Barney Maxey was my 2nd great grandfather. If he is not related to you would you consider transferring him to me?

David, Thanks so much for taking such quick action on William's transfer. Also I noticed that you added another photo, which I had never seen. In his later years Robert Benjamin Whitton [Ben] looked very much like this picture of his daddy. Ben was my uncle.
Thanks again and please continue all your hard work. It is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for posting this information. As this is my family would you be so kind as to transfer William Newton to me? Thanking you in advance.

Could you tell me where you found the information that you have listed for George B. Gray on the info at Springville cemetery, Coushatta, Louisiana. You have information that he was a Confederate Soldier in the civil war in co. I 3rd La. Infantry as a Pvt.
All our military records show that he was a Union pvt from Maine in the 7th infantry Co. B. from 1861 to August 12, 1862 after he was injured. He did live and die in Red River Parish and he is buried beside his wife Helen Irene Gray and two of his sons, Isaac and William. I do have a picture of his marker that I took and I attended the funeral of Helen Irene Parker Gray in 1949.
Thanks for your help.

Well, I don't know where the other middle name came from. Everything I see now is entirely consistent with this being the individual I was looking for.
Sorry to bother you.
|Catherine Hall||John H Carlton|
I cam across the memorial above in Caddo Parish, LA. I think he many be the relative I've been searching for with the same birth date and a death year that matches. The one I'm looking for has several relatives in the Keatchie cemetery. Sisters and their families. They are descendants of Henry E. Carlton and Mary Thomas Eads. Mother died in 1851 and Father died in Aug 1862. I see he is on furlough in Aug 30, 1862. Possibly a death in the family
I see someone has noted that he had a son Henry and if this is the one that is his father's name.
Wondering if you might have any more information. I had him as James Julius Carlton instead of James H. Carlton. But names were fairly fluid in the days before birth certificates.

David, Thank you very much for the transfer of the memorial and I appreciate you very much searching out Confederate Graves that our ancestors can be properly remembered.
I searched my sisters name and her husband but to no avail. I see that her husbands father is at this cemetery so I am pretty sure that this is the correct one. Looking for Donald G and Terry L Shires. but you people in their 50's. Im not from this area but Illinois and the trip I had to make to bury her is pretty much a blur. If you can help I sure would appreciate it. Thanks Kathy
