Taphophilia (a passion and enjoyment of cemeteries) has been my main hobby since the late 1970's when I was a junior in high school. I discovered that cemeteries in and around Los Angeles were the best places to hide from truant officers. It was in these adopted sanctuaries that I began to appreciate my surroundings: the grounds, the headstones, the architecture, the artwork and most importantly, the residents.|
In October of 2010, I founded The Traveling Taphophiles, a group that sets out once a month to visit cemeteries. Our travels have taken us as far as New Orleans. I'm fortunate to have met others that share my hobby and to have forged some great friendships along the way.
Once photos have been posted, feel free to use them as you wish - photo credit isn't necessary.
Happy Graving ~
I miss Chris with all my heart.

Nice bio for Leonard Nimoy. You beat me to the punch! lol. I know it is difficult when writing a bio to think of everything, but you may want to add he also hosted the TV series "In Search Of" for many years.

Hi Louis. Can a memorial only be submitted to Find A Grave as "famous" by the person who manages it? I like to transfer memorials to family members, but if these two Morgans are designated as "famous" they cannot be transferred to family anyway. Would you be willing to write the bios and I can give you credit for writing them?
PS re Angeles Abbey - I've never forgotten about the idea we had to get together with your group and explore, but I've been too busy and we cannot get into the buildings on a Saturday. Someday maybe we can do it; I'm hoping that Oscar will relax a bit and realize we are okay people and do not have hidden motives.
My mom always told me I was strange because I have loved cemeteries for as long as I can remember for the exact reasons you posted.
I would tell my mom "why wait until your dead to enjoy them?"
I especially love Holy Cross in Culver City as my mom and now my infant grand baby as there so we visit often and several years ago I worked close to it so at lunch you could always find me parked at the highest peak enjoying the beauty and quiet

I said wow when I saw this one.

Ok Luis, I see the dates--strange how we both posted a memorial for Barbara at near the same time and I checked to see if there was one for her before I posted.

Almost 2 years ago I asked for your permission to use Mr. Alldredge's photo in a book I thought I was going to do. Well, I didn't do that, what I did was just post 4 of my videos on YouTube, and I gave credit to you, in my first video, titled: April-May, The first time, second time, and third time at Oak Park Cemetery. Photos that I have taken only at O.P.C. from April 2012 to the
present. If you type in "The Unseen, Seen" I am like the 4-5th video down the list, and the photo for my channel is a swirly ghostly white picture. Thank-you again for permission to use Mr. A's photo.
Sincerely, Kim G.
