Bio and Links
Bio Photo Taphophilia (a passion and enjoyment of cemeteries) has been my main hobby since the late 1970's when I was a junior in high school. I discovered that cemeteries in and around Los Angeles were the best places to hide from truant officers. It was in these adopted sanctuaries that I began to appreciate my surroundings: the grounds, the headstones, the architecture, the artwork and most importantly, the residents.

In October of 2010, I founded The Traveling Taphophiles, a group that sets out once a month to visit cemeteries. Our travels have taken us as far as New Orleans. I'm fortunate to have met others that share my hobby and to have forged some great friendships along the way.

Once photos have been posted, feel free to use them as you wish - photo credit isn't necessary.

Happy Graving ~

Louis DuMort

Louis, Thanks for the Orson & Helen Hughes photos, as always the photos are wonderful. Just to let you know, probably figured it out, I took my full name and email off my bio, had a few weird emails, made me uncomfortable. Have a good night!

Thank you Mr. Mata for taking the picture of her headstone. I'm uncertain why her headstone did not last longer than 32 years. I'm going to blame Rose Hills. One time I went to visit her grave and a heavy equipment tractor had dug deep ruts into her grave and those near it. It was unethical and very disturbing. I immediately told the gate guard. Linda was my friend and a murder victim. thank you for your kindness.

RE: Jim Rebhorn / Memorial# 126773279
Hi Louis, Thanks just the same. Glad you enjoyed reading what he wrote about those he loved and were so important in his life. Such a lovely tribute and treasure for his family.

I'm enjoying trolling thru your memorials -quite a few! You r lucky to have the opportunity to travel around and visit so many cemeteries. If I ever win the lottery that's exactly how I'd spend the rest of my life :)

Take care!

Jim Rebhorn / Memorial# 126773279
Hi Louis,
Interesting to read of your love of cemeteries. You and I are cut from the same cloth!

I was wondering if you might consider adding an obituary to Mr. Rebhorn's memorial that was written by him before his passing. It's a very loving tribute to his family members. I found it on the St Paul Luthern Church memorial services website.

I think it's very telling of the type of person he was and the treasured relationships he had with his loved ones. OK, thanks for considering adding this important piece of information to his memorial.

Sincerely, Wanda aka wesblues
Here's a link to the site with the self written obit:
