Bio

I worked as a police dispatcher for 37 years for the Centerville Police Department and Appanoose County Sheriff's Office in Iowa, retiring in 2003. I have always been interested in local history and cemeteries. I have been researching my family history for 30 years. I am President of the Appanoose County Genealogical Society and Chairman of the Appanoose County Pioneer Cemeteries Commission. I have researched the people of the Centerville Police Department and Appanoose County Sheriff 's Office; Centerville Mayor's; Centerville Postmasters; Coal mining deaths in Appanoose County; Civil War soldiers buried in Centerville's Oakland Cemetery. Also African-Americans buried in Appanoose County. I am presently researching the persons buried in the Appanoose County Farm Cemetery.
