~ Native Californian. Raised and educated up & down U.S. west coast and England. Work in Africa, Latin America, parts S. Asia; now Middle East.
. Professional career: 20+ years M.D. (& M.P.H.) at U.S. university med schools & ctrs, private clinics. Specialties: Tropical Medicine & Global Public Health research ‘anywhere,' but mostly in developing countries. Past work: refugee & disaster response; occas. consult for military. Based in U.S. but travel often.
. Large extended family. Industrious relatives continue documenting huge amt of genealogical info up to present day. I have minor duties -- to investigate significant family illness when found and verify if heritable. For those proven relatives who may be at risk (living in 2014+), I make info available and offer help if they wish to have it. Also DNA analysis when acceptable -- a great assist in resolving several challenging links to relatives (d.t. adoptions, divorces, surname changes, even correcting "typos" on documents from typewriters back-in-the-day).

Many family members (known & unknown) throughout Calif & up U.S. west coast to Canada; also from Michigan, Nebraska, Tenn, Missouri, Mississippi, etc., etc., with some Native American ancestry (Cherokee). My most recent origins are in U.K. and Asia-Pacific Islands. Many blood relatives found on this site with links to wide range of traceable family all over the world. Surprised, humbled and honored by these discoveries.
. This (wonderful) ‘Find-a-Grave' site was recommended to me ~ 2 mos ago. Very grateful to those who started it, and to all the folks who voluntarily contribute their time & immeasurable efforts. Has given us new opportunities to reflect on our beginnings & start to pay our respects to many; helping us pass on the inner light of all our past generations to family members who follow so that theirs' may shine more brightly ......
