Bio Photo NOTICE: I will be out of touch for several days, therefore your patience pertaining to SACs, comments and messages is very appreciated. Thanks

Currently I am the Executive Director of the Casey Family Assn. Inc.; compiling and researching the Casey family history since 1992, and personally since circa 1982.

Our particular Clan Casey, even prior to 1725, when it first arrived on American shores, has been predominately Scots-Irish Protestants in faith and loyalties. No offense to Casey clans of other persuasions.

US Navy veteran: CTR3 (Communications Technician, R-brancher), USN (1967-1971). I'm looking for any and all former NSG Hakata, Japan CTs.

I support transfers to known relatives! After all, who is better qualified to manage a memorial than someone with a caring, kinship interest. However, please be somewhat specific in your requests. "This is a relative's memorial" will not suffice in the future. If you're only third cousins, five times removed, please just let me know. I'll probably transfer. Unfortunately, it only takes a few to make the majority of good contributors look bad.

And please let me know if you wish any of my photos removed. Especially the temporary grave markers, in lieu of permanent.

Stop by and pay a visit to my hero dad, Sgt. Raymond L. Casey.

"Our Country! In her intercourse with foreign nations may she always be in the right; but right or wrong, our country!" Stephen Decatur.

RE: Resurrection: HARDING
Thank you Mike. Her mother is my first cousin 2x removed - so not close. But, seeing her resting in a different cemetery than her husbands made me want to 'tie' them together. Thank you for your kind words and the work you do.

RE: Chapel Hill: SMITH
You're welcome.
The Jay Smith I was looking for also passed on 26 Oct 2012. He was in the Rice University Class of 1990. Traditional students for that Class would have been born around 1968. But this was the only Jay Smith I found with that DoD. He had a one line obituary (Dignity Memorial from Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens). I'm leaving him a flower, but not the Rice emblem since I don't know that this is the same Jay Smith. The info I sent you was from that obit.

FAG #61181140
Hi Mike:
Sorry to bother you again. I had sent a request to Change Doris Gene Crutchfield's maiden name to TRAYLOR instead of Taylor. Could you also link her memorial to her parents? Their #'s are Thad TRAYLOR #18964863 and wife, Beatrice Traylor (maiden name BERRY) #18964884. Thanks a million and thanks for all you do for Find-A-Grave!

FAG Memorial #61181140
Hi Mike:
Doris Gene Crutchfield's maiden name is TRAYLOR not Taylor. The newspaper that printed the obituary evidently got it wrong. I can send you more documentation if you wish. She is very distantly related to me.

RE: Resurrection: CLEVELAND
Thank you - I think linking families is the least we can do :) especially the little babies!

RE: RE Sheriff George Washington Garrison

THANK YOU for the help on this. By any chance are you related to Oklahoma County Deputy Mike Casey, one of Sheriff G.W. Garrison's first field deputies appointed in 1905?

RE: Resurrection: BIRD
Thanks for appreciating what I'm doing. Sometimes I get focussed on a group and research people on the periphery of my family that I'm not related to (but friends and relatives are). That's happened with the Bird family. Two groups were in my tree and I found the common branch. And there's something satisfying about linking people to their families. One day someone will look up their grandfather or grandmother and find a link to a more distant past.
