We reside in the Blue Ridge mountains of beautiful Western North Carolina or affectionately known as just WNC. We settled here with our two doggies, Max and Murphy after my 30 yr career in the US Navy. My wife retired in 2013 after many different careers the last of which was 10 years as a hospice chaplain and trainer. Now she is a quilting aficionado (actually quite good), and I'm an ardent history buff which nicely compliments another passion; family research/genealogy. I'm especially passionate about researching the family and military history of sailors who are missing in action in the early days of WWII in the South Pacific and posting them to FindAGrave. In many cases these MIAs are just names on a tablet, but they had lives and families, birthdays, sometimes siblings and/or wives and children and most often interesting stories about their lives. To this end I have completed over 500 stories. I'm currently researching those sailors MIA during the early Java Sea/Indian Ocean campaigns. Each of their stories are amazing. Their stories are posted on Find A Grave, Military Hall of Honor (MHOH) and Fold3.

Best regards, Gerry
