TODAY'S NEW PHOTO: My cousin, CAPTAIN John Weir Knox Macfarlane. He was a true Sea Captain and told such fascinating stories. He and his wife finally settled down to "land" life in New Zealand and raised avocados and mandarin oranges in the huge gardens. They furnished local restaurants and markets with their produce. His wife carries on the farming. Please visit John for his birthday on September 19th! Thanks Cari

RE: Ann
Hi Cari, I was very happy to finally get to meet Ann. We've talked about it before but it's so hard because she's never sure how the day will go and I live 3 hours away. Glad it was last week. My hubby and I have come down with colds and wouldn't have been able to go this week. Rosie

Ann
Hi Cari,

You haven't heard from Ann because she is back in the hospital. I'm hoping Clair or Rosie, who are both with her, will give us an update soon.

Family Tree
Your tree is lovely, lot of work on it. I have looked up a few sites just to get you started. Can you email me so I have your email address. I have some Census reports to send you. Also some inforamtion on the Clyde births and marriages in Co. Down and Co. Antrim. I will explain more in email.

Sending Ancestry Invite
Right beside the Title you gave your tree is a heading that says Tree Pages. Click on this and go down the options to Share your tree. Click share your tree.

This will take you to a box that asks if you want to invite by email or by user name. Use my email. I find email invites are more successful. On ROLE you can click Guest, Contributor or Editor. Guest is what most people do, This lets the person visit your tree but they cannot adjust anything. Contributor means the person can add to your tree and help it grow, Editor would have all the benefits the tree owner has. You can add a note if there is something specific you want to say or ask. Then click send Invites, then click finished.

Lot of work eh!!!!!

lol
If you want to send me an invitation to your tree I will look into some things for you. The UK has 100 year rule on census release so only 1901 and 1911 are helpful. There are partial 1851 but in between they were burned during WW1. You can get info via local churches and graveyards. Next census won't be released until 2021. There have been all kinds of petitions to release them early but no luck. In many ways I agree only because there would be too much information that covers 1916 uprising and recent 30+ years of troubles and they could put some at risk as there are many wounds from those killed and murdered over the years of what is called The Troubles. I have been pretty successful in many of my searches but getting some of the N.I. information takes a lot of digging.
