Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have always loved cemeteries, both for their aesthetic qualities and the infinite stories they contain about individuals, communities, and history as a whole.

This site is a wonderful escape for me; I appreciate the way it combines art, history, and paying respects to the deceased.

I take photos here in Polk County, Florida, 99.99 percent of whom are not my relatives. If you find that I've added a memorial for your Floridian friend or family member, I'll be happy to transfer the memorial to you if you wish. I'm also able to add information and return to get photos of nearby graves, etc.

I depend on generous Find A Grave volunteers to take photos for my own relatives in cemeteries in Michigan, Ohio, New York, and throughout New England. Thank you, thank you to all those who have created memorials and added photos and information for my family members in faraway states.

Although it is not my sole reason for contributing to this site, genealogy is my passion. I love to help others; please contact me for more information about any of my primary families of research. I have volumes. Literally.

Packard, Vickery, Beal, Ford, and Everett in Michigan, New York State, and Massachusetts.

Rudisill and Miller in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan.

Rushmore in New York State and Long Island, also in Michigan.

Allard, Ray, Tracy, and Bingham in Vermont and New Hampshire.

Cloyd, Woodmansee, Mutchner, and Swihart in Ohio. Also Mutchner in Maryland and Cloyd in Virginia.

Wolnowski, Kwiatkowsky, Wilkewitz, Kummer, Wobbrock, and Jaffke in Detroit, Michigan and Prussia/Germany.

Kruzynski and Lewandowski in Toledo, Detroit, and Poland.

Foye, Leach, Casson, Cruthers, Tice, Reardon, and McVey in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Practically everyone in Massachusetts and Connecticut pre-1800.

If you get out to Hebron cemetery, I am looking for the grave of Robert. He died in 1969 in Vietnam and his application for headstone says rural cem plant city. His parents william and virginia are buried there. The stone says a flat granite military marker. We need a picture of his stone to document his burial there.

RE: Mary Valot Anton
Interesting. The link worked just fine. Causes me a bit of a problem though. I have a probate record for John Valot who died in 1921. He lists as his half brother a Frank Valot and a half sister as Susan Anton. I am going to have to order the death certificate.

I have a link that a Susan Valot married a John Anton.

https://familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3Asusan~%20%2Bsurname%3AValot~%20%2Bbirth_year%3A1839-1839~%20%2Bspouse_surname%3AAnton~

So I am not sure how Mary fits in. Catherine's maiden name was Turout. If she is the same as Susan then Her mother would not be Catherine according to the 1921 probate record. Good find, I will investigate. Thanks for sharing

Can you please tell me a little more about Mary. The only information I can find on her is the memorial.

Is she buried here? How did you come by her being the Daughter of Catherine? Any information you could offer so I can verify would be appriciated

Hi ME,
Wondered if you had any info about Lemira Tracy, as I've hit a dead end with her. I know she was born in NY state, but I don't have a DOB or even her maiden name. Do you know anything about her? Thanks!

Memorial Image
Hi,
My name is Douglas C. Johnson (Find A Grave #47683562) and I was wondering if I could have your permission to use your photograph of the graves of Glenn E. Heise and Mable Heise (maiden name unknown) at Roselawn Cemetery in Lakeland, Polk County, Florida on the FamilySearch Family Tree website. I would of course list it with full credit given to you for the use of the image.
Thank You,
Doug

1858 Journal Entries Mentioning Cyrus and Betsey Packard
Hi! I'm writing a novel, ROSETTE, based on the 1856-1858 journal of Rosette Cordelia Ramsdell Churchill of Ionia County, and in the journal she mentions Cyrus and Betsey coming to her parents' home, so that Betsey could hold a "spiritual manifestations" meeting. If you're interested in seeing that excerpt, please visit RosetteBook.com and click on the Journal Blog entry for 1858. I have a couple of other mentions of Cyrus in the journal as well, if you'd like to correspond with me about those.

Also, in the novel I refer to Betsey as Sally Richardson Ramsdell's cousin but have only the connection that Cyrus Packard's sister was married to a Ramsdell. Do you have any other info on that connection?

Thank you!
