Regarding the memorials that I have created: If there are corrections needing made or to ask for a transfer, please contact me through the "Suggest a Correction" link. You can find this link by clicking on the "Edit Tab" which is located on the top far right hand side of the memorial.

Please feel free to use any photo that I have posted here and to ask me for transfers. I always prefer that loved ones manage memorials if at all possible.

RE: Joel Busby
Thank you! That would be much appreciated. He is my uncle, that I never had the opportunity to know. I have his medals, etc as my Mother, the last surviving member of this family nucleus, died in 2012, at 94 years.

I'm new to this. I realized, when my Mother and last surviving brother died within 19 days of each other, that I'm the only one left to be sure future generations know the families of which they came from. Overwhelmed isn't strong enough to express how I feel at this time!

I appreciate your volunteerism and willingness to share.

RE: McKnight cemetery marker info
Well, thank you for helping me -- last month or whenever it was!

Looks like all of the "Seven Brothers & Two Sisters" Alexanders are linked up now on FindAGrave. Awesome -- absolutely awesome.
Thank you for not giving up, when I sent you that link information for somebody's parents, and somehow it got scrambled via the EDIT tab method -- and then FindAGrave tried to make somebody his own father (or something like that) on the memorial page. Do you remember that? Wow, was that confusing. Good thing you didn't give up, and that you were able to figure out that the info would update correctly if you typed it in by hand! That was pretty strange -- I know the Alexander family is complicated, but when somebody is his own father -- that is getting to be too much!!! What is that called -- um --parthenogenesis or something like that. LOL! Computers are great when they work -- and when they don't work -- oh, boy
-- they are nothing but entertainment.

If you liked the first booklet --

1) "Early Family Burial Grounds of Mecklenburg Co", DAR, 1900:

then perhaps you would like this second one as well --

2) Historic Rocky River Church (1751-1958)

I have been using these books to track down a few missing people.

By the way, there is a cemetery (which used to be in Mecklenburg Co but is now in Cabarrus Co) that was moved, back in 1979, called McClure Cemetery. It was thought to only have about 13 graves in it in 1979, but then when an excavation team took a look at things, there were a total of 173 graves. If you are looking for any missing graves in the area -- then this cemetery could be a possible spot to investigate further. More info about the original McClure Cemetery is here on its profile page:

Best regards,

McKnight cemetery marker info

I found a booklet with some inscription info about two McKnights in Mecklenburg Co, NC, on page 30. I just thought that you might be interested in the DAR booklet:

Joel Teel(Teal)
According to the ADAH, Teal was mortally wounded in the head on June 1,1864. The only fighting I could find on that date was a skirmish at Altoona Pass during the Atlanta campaign. The 29th was part of that campaign at that time. William Thomas Teal was also a member of Company G. I'm sure he is related to Joel in some way. Russell Teal is William's GGGrandson. His E-Mail address is Maybe he can shed some light on Joel. Good Luck, Hutch.

RE: Transfer Memorial
Thank you for the offer. Yes, I will accept the other Madkins memorials. My wife and I have been working on the Madkins family tree. We will connect these memorials and add photos of the family members with obituaries. Again, thanks for your efforts.

RE: Updates Made
I am in total agreement!! It is also my desire to see family members managing memorials.

Thank you again for adding the information. It's worth all the hard work to find someone like you willing to add to the memorials.

God Bless
