Bio Photo Taphophilia (a passion and enjoyment of cemeteries) has been my main hobby since the late 1970's when I was a junior in high school. I discovered that cemeteries in and around Los Angeles were the best places to hide from truant officers. It was in these adopted sanctuaries that I began to appreciate my surroundings: the grounds, the headstones, the architecture, the artwork and most importantly, the residents.

In October of 2010, I founded The Traveling Taphophiles, a group that sets out once a month to visit cemeteries. Our travels have taken us as far as New Orleans. I'm fortunate to have met others that share my hobby and to have forged some great friendships along the way.

Once photos have been posted, feel free to use them as you wish - photo credit isn't necessary.

Happy Graving ~

Louis DuMort

I miss Chris with all my heart.

Thank you!

Thank you for taking the photo's of Arthur Hazen Mecham and Maude Guptill Mecham's memorial as requested.

I'm sure it was not an easy task in such a large cemetery. I'm guessing that the names at the top of the memorials are nicknames? "Art" for Arthur and "Tony" for Maude? I had never heard anyone in my family refer to Aunt Maude as Tony. The things you find out.

Again thank you!

Walter Guptill

PS Love you bio!
