Taphophilia (a passion and enjoyment of cemeteries) has been my main hobby since the late 1970's when I was a junior in high school. I discovered that cemeteries in and around Los Angeles were the best places to hide from truant officers. It was in these adopted sanctuaries that I began to appreciate my surroundings: the grounds, the headstones, the architecture, the artwork and most importantly, the residents.|
In October of 2010, I founded The Traveling Taphophiles, a group that sets out once a month to visit cemeteries. Our travels have taken us as far as New Orleans. I'm fortunate to have met others that share my hobby and to have forged some great friendships along the way.
Once photos have been posted, feel free to use them as you wish - photo credit isn't necessary.
Happy Graving ~
I miss Chris with all my heart.

Just a note to say thanks for getting a great shot of my grandmother and grandfather's grave. I have yet to see the bronze plaque in person so it's great to get the photo!

How bizarre is it that she died the same day as Kantner?

They only have a tiny wooden cross on the grave at the moment as the ground is still settling. They showed the grave on the news the other night that's how I knew where he was. If I am out that way I will try and take a pic otherwise I might have to wait till the headstone is added.
All the best..Linda :)

Great tribute to David Bowie... may he rest in peace.
Barris is in the Garden of Honor (NW gdn, the one with Robert Taylor, Joan Blondell, et al). In fact, if you know the location where Natalie’s brother, Nat Kelly, is interred, Barris is in the elevated terrace behind Nat Kelly Cole. As for Natalie, one person has posted that she might be in the newer built area of the same garden, in the central lawn area fronting the Thomas Jefferson statue, as there was a large bank of white roses, Natalie’s favorite flower. However, there has obviously (by the FL standards) no confirmation if this as of yet, but definitely worth investigating soon. And speaking of Bugliosi, did you happen to catch the YouTube posting by some fellow who has a fetish for things related (subject-wise and other) to Charles Manson? This individual visited the Bugliosi grave very recently, and he referred to your mini-bio on Bugliosi from the F-A-G memorial page via his smartphone and read a section of it aloud. I thought that was a neat touch to the video. And if you want to meet, whether planned or by chance, give me your take on this. BTW, your contributions to F-A-G are QUITE impressive.
