First and foremost, I have no desire to be the highest contributor, but to hopefully assist in filling in the gaps that may someday be helpful to others. Why should I feel the need to explain this?-?, because there are people who look at those numbers and make assumptions that aren't correct. My husband and I have spent many, many hours walking entire cemeteries, photographing grave markers and documenting memorials, and the best reward is when a family member finds them. While photographing headstones, we did run across some markers that had been "enhanced" with chalk, and in one instance with a black marker, by person(s)unknown to us. We went ahead and photographed these markers and posted them to the memorials.

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME to the people that use colored chalk to "enhance" the markers before taking photos. Don't you know that this should NOT be done and could cause damage to the marker, not to mention it is very unsightly. I won't mention the names of the contributors, but you know who you are!

Be aware that newspaper copyright expires 75 years after publishing. After that, newspaper obituaries and other articles are considered public domain. I will follow Find A Grave's policy by not including the survivor's names in an obituary unless I have proof that the person that was living then is now deceased.

Obituary photos are copyrighted. so, PLEASE do NOT add these photos to any memorials I have created. Please read FAQ under "Working with Photos":

Please be sure the edits you submit are accurate. I have made several changes from edit requests and found out through other edit requests, the previous information was incorrect. I do not research every submitted edit request unless there is something that really stands out as being incorrect.

Please do NOT add obits, death records, etc. on the "Add a Flower or Note" Option. This is against Find-A-Grave's policy.
