Bio

Hello fellow seekers of family history.
I have been tracing the journey of my ancestors across the United States from the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia and the coast of North Carolina to Claiborne and Greene County, Tennessee; Breathitt County, Kentucky; Harrison County, Indiana; Edgar and Clark Counties, Illinois; Woodbury County, Iowa; and Union County, South Dakota. In 1941 my grandmother moved to California with her three daughters.
-
Family names that I am following are Johnston ( Dundas, Ont. ), Fretz ( Sarnia, Ont ) and Casey in Ontario, Canada; and La Croix and Briere in Quebec, Canada; and the Hurst and Shannon family lines that lead back to Virginia and North Carolina. Names connected by marriage to the Hurst and Shannon lines include Boyer, Lindsay, Derr, Dunn, Ward, Small, Smith, McKinney and Keyser.
That's what I think others might want to know, if there is any other question or comment, please leave a message on my page or use the edit link on a memorial I have created to send a private message. -JHS

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
-often attributed to Plato but certainly a quote of Ian MacLaren (Rev. John Watson)
