Bio and Links
Bio Photo I stumbled across this site over ten years ago, made a few entries, and wandered off. I returned after three years and realized it was a wonderful opportunity to do something meaningful, for both the dead and the living.

I am currently working on recording cemeteries in my home area, as well as those in Blair Co, Pa., my area of interest. My particular passion is recording stones that are 'trying hard to soon become unreadable'.

I am always thrilled when I can take an almost unreadable or broken tombstone, and, with a little research, successfully identify the person. Some have taken me years, but the harder the chase, the more satisfying the victory, especially knowing that someone out there may be searching for that elusive ancestor or relative...

I try to put as much application into stranger's graves as I would those of my own family, as I consider this a labor of love.

If anyone is helped by my efforts and wants to say thank-you, considering leaving a flower for my sponsored memorials. All tokens are appreciated.

I am a "no-dispositions-unknown" contributor.

Please note - I try to act on SACs within 72 hours. If I do not respond within a week, feel free to resend; I may have missed it. I will not make links, however, to burial unknowns.

In the past I have been very liberal with transfers, including many out-of-guidelines transfers. I loved turning memorials over to family.

Sadly however, having been 'burned' a number of times recently, I am rethinking that policy. Most of the memorials I have happily transferred over have had not one iota of additional information added by the transferee, aside from links, often times to 'burial unknowns.' When things ARE added, they are frequently cut and paste entries from Ancestry or FamilySearch indices, making the memorial unattractive and about about as personable as a baseball score card. Often too, the transferees get bored and wander away from the site, abandoning their memorials and when I find new info to add they never reply.

If you request an out-of-guidelines transfer, I will review your current memorials to see if you are good stewards of them, and base my decision on that. I am very happy to add additional information to 'flesh-out' existing memorials, and if you work with me on that I may later reconsider a transfer that I did not initially grant.

I realize this post was made four years ago, I am hoping I am reaching the right person who can be of help. I am not a relative of his but am very interested in his works in Pennsylvania as minister. When he left the pastorate in Hollidaysburg he came to my church in Middletown, Maryland in 1861 and left just a few months before the Civil War broke out in our community. He was our 17th pastor. I am on the archive committee of our church and gathering information on our pastors, both personal and ministerial accomplishments. We will be celebrating our 275th anniversary next year and our goal is to try to gather as much info on each of our pastors as we can. If you have a picture that would be wonderful. We thank you in advance for anytime that you may take. God bless.

Andrew Smith
Thank you, Zella, for the information about the grave of Andrew Smith, 208th Pennsylvania. Having two burial sites as described by the Pennsylvania Veterans' Burial Record makes things difficult!

Best wishes,

RE: Mary Boggs

Thanks for trying!
I will have to keep looking for her middle name.

Have a great day!

Sorry for the delay but wanted to thank you for taking the time to locate and photograph the memorial for me, it is greatly appreciated. Would like to ask that if you happen to be at Coitsville Cemetery in the future if you could take a photo of the dedication plaque that is in front of his marker. I am working on a WWII project and this would be of great interest. Also would like to ask your permission to use the photos you took for the project I am working on, I hope you do not mind, please let me know. Thanks again for your time and efforts in fulfilling my request, it is volunteers such as yourself that make this such a great resource and site, Cheers!!

RE: Weiland Memorial
Herman and Albertina are in Section 25, Lot 36. William and Bertha are directly in front of them, so they are likely in Section 25, Lot 36 also. I added the photo for William and Bertha.

I added the Smith for her maiden name, but I don't like to take away a middle initial from a stone until I know 100% what the middle name is. Would you by chance have her obit or death cert??

Have a great day!

Weiland Memorial
Zella - I took photos of Herman And Albertina Weiland. In front of their headstones was a headstone for William and Bertha Weiland. No memorial. If this is of interest to you I will attach photos if you create the memorial.
