Since Las Vegas is a relatively young city, most of the cemeteries in the valley are less than 50 years old. I am currently concentrating my efforts on Palm Valley View Memorial Park, a large, beautiful cemetery that straddles the border of Las Vegas and Henderson.|
I believe that the history of any community is comprised of the stories of each and every one of its inhabitants. It is immaterial whether the person was the city's mayor or a dishwasher; every piece of this human mosaic is an integral part of the historical perspective. I am committed to preserving this history by creating entries that include a bio along with the photo of the person's headstone or marker. I hope that my efforts will eventually become a valuable resource for those who are exploring the history of the Las Vegas Valley, as well as for those who are researching their personal family histories.
When creating a memorial entry, I usually start with a photo of the headstone. I then attempt to find obituaries or news stories related to the person's life. The online archives of the local paper only go back to 1991, however, so often I come up empty-handed. Whatever info I can find goes into creating the memorial entry. (Note: I have obtained permission from both of my local newspapers to use published obituaries as long as I attribute the source).
I consider my entries to be "works in progress" and welcome any suggestions that you might have that will enhance an entry. However, I appreciate your patience while waiting for me to respond. Due to the high volume of entries that I have created to date, I receive several letters a day suggesting changes or requesting management transfers. I respond as promptly as I am able. After 30 days, if you haven't received a response from me please contact me again - it's possible that your request fell through the cracks somehow.
I work in a cyclical business (the convention industry) and there are times when I am required to work as much as 60 hours a week. I catch up on the SACs I receive once things return to normal at work.
Please hesitate before trying to cultivate a critical or malicious environment here because of a perceived slight. No slight is ever intended.
I do not adhere strictly to Find-A-Grave's transfer criteria. Any reasonable request will be considered. However, please determine whether you really need to manage an entry before you make a transfer request. For example, one does not need to manage every entry of a particular surname; the virtual cemetery feature allows one to keep track of these sorts of entries.
I will not respond to transfer requests posted on this page. Please follow the proper transfer request procedures so that I receive an email containing links to the memorials you would like to manage.
If you are requesting that I add additional information, please reference the source from which the info was obtained(Veterans Administration records, obituaries, Social Security Death Index, census records, family records, etc.). I strive to make my entries as accurate and inclusive as possible. If I add suggested info into an entry that I manage, I will reference the source. Please do not ask me to add info that is not verifiable. Example: a contributor recently asked me to link two people as married simply because they were interred in the same crypt. Research revealed that they were actually mother and son, not husband and wife.
Please do not submit bios or obituaries that sensationalize the tragic circumstances of a person's passing. I do not believe these lurid and violent details belong on this web site.
I decline to give permission to use my photos for resale, for profit, or to upload to a different web site.

Hi! You have taken 3 photos (Karen, Frank and Thelma Ayotte) at Palm Memorial Park that I would very much like to attach (with appropriate credit given) to my tree on Ancestry.
While the second last paragraph of your bio says you "decline to give permission", the last paragraph seems to imply you might consider it if permission is asked ("permission ... must be granted by me").
I'm just not clear on your meaning. So I hope you don't mind me asking ... may I please have permission?
Thanks for considering my request.

I am the one who originated David Raymond Wilson's memorial on this website 13 years ago. I noticed his burial site has been changed from Palm Memorial Green Valley to Palm Memorial NW. Are you the one who changed it? If so, how does it get changed back?
I attended his funeral. I was part of his funeral procession. I bought a plot next to him before they moved him to his current spot. I then bought a plot one space away when, once again, they buried someone in the wrong plot - this time it was mine [a gent named James Joyce - not THE James Joyce]. I was forced to give up the plot since there were no others available. This man was my true love. If I put something on this page, I have an expectation that it be considered hallowed. Thank you.

Hi Tim, I sent this to you in April, but I didn't see it in your Public messages, so I am sending it again.
Find A Grave contributor GJK has made a suggestion to you regarding your Find A Grave memorial for Linda Rollwitz.

Suggestion: Tim, Linda Marie Rollwitz my sister Carol Costa Rollwitz’ daughter. I am the family historian using Ancestry, and I am requesting that you transfer Linda's memorial to me so I can add links and a biography. Thanks so much! Georgia Costa Konkoly

Hello Tim! Sounds like you are very busy. I had sent some edits to you through the Edit/SAC feature on her memorial page. It has been some time ago and maybe you did not get these? Her birth location a link to her parents and a few other little details. Would you like me to resend these or is there another way you would like it done? The information I sent was found in family records, census and the like. She was married three times and she was a Vance when she married Mr. Matzek.
Thank you so much for creating her memorial page!

Hello , First let me start out by saying thanks for taking the picture of my Aunt Dottie's (Dorothy Marie Domeier Kozar) grave I never would have found it otherwise...I'm planning a visit to Las Vegas (Palm Memorial Park (Green Valley) and would like to go visit her grave but I would have no idea where it is located once I arrive at the cemetery, Is there a way to help me figure out a way to find it so I'm not walking around the cemetery for hours?? Thanks in Advance..
