RE: NM Prison Riot
It would seems that at least a couple would've been cremated and had their ashes scattered...only their families will know where they are...or maybe having ashes kept until wife dies for some missing if married.

RE: NM Prison Riot
Tom O'Meara was especially sad...seems staff'd given him a "snitch" label so other inmates would pick on him...for trying to warn some female staff that trouble was brewing. How ironic, and I sure hope some consciences have been eating away at same a long time. Didn't realize that most of these guys' deaths went unprosecuted/unpunished...I had generally thought much better of Bruce King.

RE: NM Prison Riot
I've been trying to comb thru' online a book called *the Devil's Butcher Shop* about the Santa Fe prison riot. I had a friend who had, before I met him in 1981 or 2, been the only soldier in a jeep to survive when it was blown up in Vietnam.

Sometime in the late 1970s, he was in a lot of pain and "borrowed" a vehicle to drive himself to the ended up in Santa Fe for auto theft and was there during the rioting (not hurt, tho').

When people ask to borrow money, we "lend" if we can, but under the assumption we'll never see it again...and that's fine with us ~ not something we hold against someone who came to us when in need. One girlfriend, and this guy...surprise, surprise...paid it back.

I'm truly thankful to you for rounding up so much data on these souls!

RE: NM Prison Riot
Have only discovered Lawrence Cardon's middle name was Charles and that there are some Cardons in the Masonic Cemetery in Las specific name for Lawrence, but wonder if he is unmarked?

Joe Madrid
Joe (Jose, Jr) Madrid's last name was spelled Madrid while his father's, with whom he shares a marker, was spelled Madril. The lady in the office told me she has the same alternate spellings in her own family, and does not know why...just that some spell it Madrid and some Madril. The office record has Joe/Jose, Jr with last name spelled Madrid.

...his body was pretty much all ash when found

RE: NM Prison Riot
No...someone had previously put up Joe Madrid misspelled as did you find him? It seems that O'Meara was from Maryland and may have been taken back there.

RE: NM Prison Riot
Just noticed that Joe Madrid had a misspelled memorial in Mount Calvary. I looked for them all over the weekend and there were 11 (but including Joe Madrid) that did not have memorials. You're doing a fantastic job on this, William...poor Paulina Paul...must be in Alamogordo.

RE: Stephen Stecker
I put up a photo, but there is the problem of duplicate memorials.

RE: Urioste & Sedillo Photos in Rosario Cemetery
De nada; you're welcomed (again ~ ☻), William. Have had no luck yet finding burial places for the nine from 1980 Prison Riot who do no have memorials on FindAGrave, but suspect they are all in their home towns if not in national cemetery.
