His first bill he submitted, sponsored, and was passed was the Virginia Cemetery Bill, which forbade any destruction and/or plowing them under of them!

He alone saved the Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo silvestris) from being becoming extinct when he was Chairman of Virginian Wildlife. Yes this is the Bird which the Country TURKEY attained that name. Tom, hen , and poults all.
Benjamin Franklin wanted this as our national Bird.

Many thanks for her memorial -what an amazing woman! My sister and I spent years in an Episcopal orphanage - "St John's" in Painesville, Ohio in the care of a well educated "black" nun. She was the only "black" nun, and was very precious to us. She died at age 100. See her memorial, Sister Myrtle Mary Deane # 130795373

William Smith
I just read the quote by William Penn that you added to Capt Smith's Memorial. I have never read anything quite so patriotic and so touching.

I researched the internet and according to wikipedia, Essex County also has two Seats: Sale & Lawrence. Lynn is the largest city in the County of Essex.
