All photos of graves that I have posted were taken by me and may be copied freely and posted on other websites. There is no need to credit me or identify me when they are so used and no need to request permission beforehand. I won't be annoyed if you do anyway, but it really isn't necessary for the grave photos taken by me. Most photos of persons that I have posted were not taken by me. Please check the photo caption to determine the source (most often an obituary).

The photos were taken with a Sony Cybershot camera, which takes 4896x3672 (18M-pixel) images. The original JPG files are 6-7 MB in size. I then use GIMP, an open source image processing program that can be downloaded for free from, to rotate, crop and rescale the images. Usually I set the horizontal resolution to 1200 pixels, sometimes up to 1600 for panoramic scenes. I use a compression "quality" setting of 50 to 70, most often 60 to 65. The resulting picture files are usually 250 to 300 kB, with some up to 400 kB. Limiting the file size to that range allows snappy downloads when opening the image at full resolution.

Atonina Bara Rec
Eric, I saw your information that Antonina Bara had children before she married Wojciech Rec. I am taking for granted you got this information at Cathedral Cemetery? Can you share it?

Kathryn McGinley Harney
Error on Find A Grave # 110433123.
Kathryn Harney's spouse was Daniel J. Harney (1879-1942). His Find A Grave # is 110433118

I think when you added the Spouse number on Kathryn's grave, you must have transposed the numbers. It is showing her married to a woman named Harris in error.

Thank you for taking the time to correct this mistake.

Anthony P. Rakowski
Eric, I sent you a message on this earlier and now, when I got on, I can't find him at all. Also, his parents ... Antoni and Anna Rakowski ... they have other people who are taking care of them and., although I sent them messages 12 days ago, they haven't made any changes and I don't even know if they're reading my messages. They are Ruth & Sharon Corey. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can contact them directly via email or get something done? I may be too impatient but, just wondering. Thanks for all your help.

Ludwik Smutski
Eric, unfortunately, this person is even buried under the incorrect surname ... and that was probably because his death certificate said the same. His real name is Ludwik Smulski and after he died, his wife married Stanislaw Chlebowski. You will find that she is buried under Elizabeth Chelbowska. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Skonieczny.

I guess nobody realized how badly this was handled because they were all from Poland and had to deal with Americans and just didn't realize it.

At least maybe we can get this all cleared up for them, even though they will never know it. Maybe someone along the line will.
