Three Daingerfield graduates: a county judge, a college professor, and an auditor were honored as distinguished alumni for outstanding professional achievement by the Daingerfield Alumni Association Sept. 22, 2012.

This year's honorees included Rod Carnahan, a 1958 graduate; Arthur David Sloan, a 1964 graduate, and Lynda Forrest Munkres, a 1966 graduate.

Nominations came from Daingerfield alumni, and honorees were selected by a committee from the association.

He graduated from Kilgore College in 1960 and graduated from East Texas State University-Commerce in 1963. He earned a law degree from LaSalle University in Chicago in 1973. He was the accountant for United Gas in Gladewater, relocating to Jacksonville Division Office Engineering Dept. and later promoted to internal auditor for the entire East Texas & Beaumont Divisions. He retired in 1999 from Centerpoint Energy.

He has been very involved in civic clubs in Jacksonville, including Civitan and Jaycees, and has received several awards for community service. He and his wife Shirley have been married since 1964.
