Bio Photo October 18, 2014 No longer traveling; catching up to messages & edits - if you have sent bio information am also catching up with those.

I no longer make changes, additions, transfers from messages left on my contributor page. Please follow FindAGrave procedures by using the Edit tab on the memorial page to request changes, additions, request transfers, etc.

Thank you for following FindAGrave procedures.

Contributor Connie posted this. I thought it was such a great idea I posted it to my page! Thanks, Connie!

Find a Grave has implemented a new way to submit Edits! Unfortunately, there are far too many members for Find a Grave to notify everyone via email, so it's up to us to get the word out. If every member posts this message (or similar) in their profile, hopefully we can help spread the word.

To suggest a correction (SAC) click on the edit tab of the memorial that needs to be corrected. Then click on the link which best describes where your edit should occur. Enter your correction, when you're done, click submit edit. Your request will be sent to the manager of the memorial and will appear in the managers' profile under the Edits tab.

Managers will no longer receive emails. They must go directly to their profile page and click on the Edits tab. Managers can approve, deny or ignore, suggested corrections. It's quick and easy!

The exception:
Requesting a transfer other corrections are still handled the same way. Click on "suggest any other correction or addition," type your message and press "send this message." The manager of the memorial will receive an email.

===============================

Please ask permission before posting my personal family photographs, photographs I have taken of grave stones or biographical material I have written from my memorial pages on this site to Ancestry.com or any other website or personal webpages.

Please see FindAGrave Frequently Asked questions for more information:

How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

RE: James W. Reintzel
The reason Pippinger doesn't have Anna Virginia Moxley listed is because she was buried under the name of her second husband (I will fix that on her memorial page.) She married John Padgett in 1879 (7 years after Charles Henry died) and is buried in lot 575 Site 3 as Anna Virginia Padgett. And btw, you do have James W. listed with his siblings, and you state on 3 of the sibling pages that she was their mother....and on Charles Henry's page that she was his wife.

I appreciate the credit for the wife's middle name and would like to ask how you were able to list my name as a link. Someone provided me with info for one of my own memorials and I would like to give them credit in the same manner. However when I try it will only enter the name and not the link to the contributor. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for notifying PHOTO about the attribution issue. I am amazed and dazzled by how much effort you put into Oak Hill Cemetery memorials on Find A Grave.
Thank you!

RE: Charlotte Sedgwick Stevens
Not exactly where the original burial lot is, was going by a previous researchers notes...

You can see by the birth and death dates that they're not "calculated dates" from burial...

Maybe in a different section of the cemetery, or there might have been a renumbering scheme put in place after she was moved (or maybe why she WAS moved)...

Don't know exactly...

Part 2...

Noticed when re-reading one of the obits on the page, that you - or someone - caught the error, as it says:

"He was the son [should be son-in-law] of Hestor L. Stevens"...

Great job on that memorial, by the way! You must be a family researcher or relative (which is why you had the obituaries?)

If so, we are distant cousins...

Thanks again for your help and attentions!
Jeff

So, if his obit is correct, then he married his own sister...

Well, there's your dilemma.. believe me, or the obit...

Thanks for all you do!

Jeff

RE: Col Alfred Spates
:-)

Margaret is a Spates who married Huddleston. Sorry about that.

By the way, I'm fairly certain the Spates parents- Samuel and Ann- are both buried in Bethesda Meeting House Cemetery, but they are not yet in Find a Grave. I have a trip planned there and once verified, I can link these children.
