Thank you for following FindAGrave procedures.

Contributor Connie posted this. I thought it was such a great idea I posted it to my page! Thanks, Connie!

Find a Grave has implemented a new way to submit Edits! Unfortunately, there are far too many members for Find a Grave to notify everyone via email, so it's up to us to get the word out. If every member posts this message (or similar) in their profile, hopefully we can help spread the word.

To suggest a correction (SAC) click on the edit tab of the memorial that needs to be corrected. Then click on the link which best describes where your edit should occur. Enter your correction, when you're done, click submit edit. Your request will be sent to the manager of the memorial and will appear in the managers' profile under the Edits tab.

Managers will no longer receive emails. They must go directly to their profile page and click on the Edits tab. Managers can approve, deny or ignore, suggested corrections. It's quick and easy!

The exception:
Requesting a transfer other corrections are still handled the same way. Click on "suggest any other correction or addition," type your message and press "send this message." The manager of the memorial will receive an email.

Please ask permission before posting my personal family photographs, photographs I have taken of grave stones or biographical material I have written from my memorial pages on this site to or any other website or personal webpages.

Please see FindAGrave Frequently Asked questions for more information:

How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed information and photos for my memorials. I usually link to the individual contributor using HTML code. If this is unacceptable to you just let me know you prefer to remain anonymous.

Sorry for the multiple edits...his daughter was just buried with him today and I noticed that his headstone had the incorrect birth date after all these years!
If you would like (certainly not necessary), you can post a link to his memorial:

Charles Carroll Kimball #144619601
Hi, I just wanted to thank you for all the work and articles you posted on the Charles Carroll Kimball page about his grandson, Edward Hastings Kimball...and the proceedings that occurred to change his name.
Edward H. Kimball married my great Aunt, Nellie May Pooley, and both Edward and Nellie are buried in Thornrose Cemetery here in Staunton, VA where I live.
I would have never figured this out about him actually being an Eckerson.
I do know that he was a Clerk at the Post office in Washington D.C. and family lore stated he may have even been in the White House P.O.
He was just a colorful character and this made it more so.
Thanks for your hard work.

RE: Amelia Noble McDougall
My Grandma & Mom both hated their names, but it is what it is. lol Gma always went by Mary J & Mom goes by A. Elaine and both have that on their stones. I've never had anyone say anything yet so never thought too much of it. As long as it's noted somewhere, I'm good. :)

That'll work. She's the mother of my cousin's wife.

RE: Gittings

Not only are there two Gittings buried in Lot 959, there are also five other burials, two adults and 3 children most of whom were re-interred from a cemetery in Coatesville, PA.

Stone, Dr. Brinton 69985767
Stone, Elizabeth Davis Bowie 69985822
Stone, Thyrza (infant) 69985929
Stone, Brinton, Jr (infant) 69985971
Stone, John Brinton (infant) 69986069

The coordinates I show for these are only good enough for locating the lot - not individual graves. Because of the tress, it is also hard to verify on aerial maps

I used the coordinates from my brother's camera when he visited the site two weeks ago and they seem to match other photos he took referencing the physical location with regard to other monuments. Any coordinates that we the consumer use, are only accurate to within plus or minus about 15-20 feet. Surveyors can accurately place to with inches but we just don't have that capability. There is a movement among many cemeteries now to acquire accurate coordinates - is that being done at Oak Hill?

If you have something more accurate, please go ahead and show it.

Rev Ebenezer Mather
Ebenezer Mather was my husbands Great-Grand-Uncle. I would like to share information with you. Daniel Mather was his second great grand father. This such an interesting family.

RE: Child Raymond
I did some research and this is the same child as Memorial # 127097387, Charles Pratt Raymond. There is no name listed other than "Child of Capt. CW Raymond" but the plot info matches that of Charles Pratt Raymond.
