Bio Photo August 19, 2014 No longer traveling; catching up to messages & edits

I no longer make changes, additions, transfers from messages left on my contributor page. Please follow FindAGrave procedures by using the Edit tab on the memorial page to request changes, additions, request transfers, etc.

Thank you for following FindAGrave procedures.

Contributor Connie posted this. I thought it was such a great idea I posted it to my page! Thanks, Connie!

Find a Grave has implemented a new way to submit Edits! Unfortunately, there are far too many members for Find a Grave to notify everyone via email, so it's up to us to get the word out. If every member posts this message (or similar) in their profile, hopefully we can help spread the word.

To suggest a correction (SAC) click on the edit tab of the memorial that needs to be corrected. Then click on the link which best describes where your edit should occur. Enter your correction, when you're done, click submit edit. Your request will be sent to the manager of the memorial and will appear in the managers' profile under the Edits tab.

Managers will no longer receive emails. They must go directly to their profile page and click on the Edits tab. Managers can approve, deny or ignore, suggested corrections. It's quick and easy!

The exception:
Requesting a transfer other corrections are still handled the same way. Click on "suggest any other correction or addition," type your message and press "send this message." The manager of the memorial will receive an email.

Please ask permission before posting my personal family photographs, photographs I have taken of grave stones or biographical material I have written from my memorial pages on this site to or any other website or personal webpages.

Please see FindAGrave Frequently Asked questions for more information:

How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed information and photos for my memorials. I usually link to the individual contributor using HTML code. If this is unacceptable to you just let me know you prefer to remain anonymous.

RE: Como Charles Morris
Thank you for the follow up and for directing me to the other memorial. I very much enjoyed reading the biographical sketch that you have and learning a little more about Commodore Morris. :-)

RE: James Davidson, #71356136
I'm not sure if I'm related or not, although he surely sounds familiar. My Davidsons also left Scotland for Ireland for a while, a John Davidson and his wife, Isabel Crafoord Davidson, dying in Ireland in 1710, but have other Davidson brothers who remained and came to America in 1715. I have Davidsons who fought in the Revolutionary War as well. Most of their 1st names were John, Alexander, Hezekiah, William, and Phillip, traditionally. Of course, their wives added in their fathers' names along with other close relatives, but these are the most common. I've been trying to find a link to your Davidsons. Were they from the Inverness or Cupar area of Scotland? I've been able to trace back one branch of my Davidsons to the 1500's, have even found baptismal records from Scotland. I am wondering if we are related, would need to share more information with you to be certain as these are generalities. My Davidsons settled in VA., MD., & KY. among other states, & many went on to MO., then on to OR., CA., & WA. in the 1840's. Would be nice if we were related & could compare notes.

RE: Rules for transfers
A unrude response instead of just pure ignoring me would have meant you would not get a second response in the first place. In the second place I typed one to many greats I am the Fourth generation. I explained that to you . Yet you chose to act as if I have nothing to add to my own Grandfather's memorial I have all kinds of items I would add but you would just delete them as you have already proven.

RE: Carl Frederick Kuehnle, Jr
I was glad to be able to fill these requests for you. I was fulfilling another Find a Grave photo request in that area, and I saw the name "Kuehnle" I thought there were old requests under that name so I went home, checked and went back to the cemetery the next day. The gravestones were almost completely covered with grass and leaves (probably why the other volunteer couldn't find them). Well, I went to work with my spade and broom and you have the results. If you need anything else in Chicagoland, let me know.

Helen Dunlop Laird's date of death is
January 12th 1892

I accidently put Sept in my previous message.

After contacting the cemetery, I learned the actual date of internment is January 14th 1892.

Thank You
