RE: Robert L. Pitt
I did not have the right firehouse. It was the Spring Valley Hook & Ladder. I do not have a picture of his grave, but it is in Germonds (New City, NY) off of Germonds Road.

I will try and send you a picture of him.

Thank you so much for asking.

RE: Robert L. Pitt
It is interesting that I am receiving your email today. My father passed away 51 years ago today. His main job was as assistant postmaster of the Spring Valley Post Office, Spring Valley, NY. He volunteered as a fireman with the Spring Valley Fire Department (not Hook and Ladder). On December 5, 1964, my family (dad, sister, mother and me) were attending the Spring Valley Methodist Church spaghetti dinner when the fire along, across the street, went off. My dad was one of the first ones to respond since it was only across the street from the church. After the dinner was over, my sister had already gone to her job at Hong Luck Restaurant in Nanuet, NY. My mom and I were helping to clean up at the church. We received a call that my dad had been injured and we should come to the Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. They worked on my dad for several hours but he died that night.

He was a hero. Three of his fellow fireman were trapped in the burning building and my dad went in to get them. He saved their lives. However, he died from smoke inhalation in the process. He is buried in Germonds Cemetery in New City along with my mother, Jeannette Lucille Morgan Pitt Conklin. Their is a road named after him, Robert Pitt Drive, in Monsey, NY. There is also a memorial at the Fire Training Center.

My sister still lives in New Jersey and her son and his family live in Nanuet, NY. I am living in Martinez, California since 1980.

RE: Anatoli Burakow
I am married to his son Michael ( Mike). How do your know Anatoli? I'm sure that my husband would like to know how you knew him. We were recently at the cemetery in Nanuet( we always thought it was Spring Valley). We no longer live in the area. I wanted to take pictures of his grave and other family members to add to my Ancestry.com family tree information.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Nice write up for Felix. He was my great grandfather. The link you have for his son is incorrect. He did have a son named John, 1923-1992, who was my grandfather. John is buried in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Keene, NH.

R.C., If he was the same person I never knew about it. As far as I know the only time he was married was to my mother. Robin

Stephen Rowe Bradley III
Hi there,
You asked for some info on Stephen R. Bradley. I'm looking into his brother, Arthur C. Bradley. The two worked in Brooklyn, N.Y. and have a patent together on an apparatus for making white lead. https://books.google.com/books?id=uPx8AAAAMAAJ&pg=PA1182&lpg=PA1182&dq=Arthur+c+Bradley,+white+lead+manufacture,+Brooklyn,+ny&source=bl&ots=4BGkzNvAgz&sig=_lGyADaPHDZv7YH2axkQ8Bh2d4Y&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjB_K_nluDPAhVC4SYKHZiZCh8Q6AEIITAC#v=onepage&q&f=false
Interesting!

Info. on Lawrence Coates
I am inquiring about a recent virtual memorial
(06/30/2016) you gave along with newspaper caption for Lawrence W. Coates in the Nyack Rural Cemetery.
I am wondering if you are a descendent or possibly have more information about his family. I am related to his wife, Mary E., and felt it is worth the chance. Thanks.
