I've written and published two family history books and the history of Berryton for its 1986 Centennial.
I have just finished going through three books about Topekans in 1905, 1934 and 1956 for the third time. They were WHO'S WHO and BUILDERS OF TOPEKA. Also, I'm adding bios from WHO'S WHO IN THE WORLD, 1912. There are still many biographies that need to be added, once their tombstones are copied. I'll put the books away for another year and go back and try to find some more.
About 25 years ago, the local historical society put all the Shawnee County marriage applications up to 1913 on microfilm. They discarded the originals and allowed persons to take names of those they recognized. I gave my old mailman about 50 and he delivered them to people in our township. I have given away hundreds of them. I still had some left over, so I put them on FAG.
tried calling you.... Joanie, I tried calling you this weekend to verify a 1905 Who's Who bit of information. The phone just rang and rang. I'll try again this afternoon ---- and maybe we'll have to make a trip south to your home.
Elmer Schwartz I noticed you had left flowers on Elmer's memorial page with a note indicating he was your uncle. My husband, Randy Frederick, remembers going to Elmer's house as a child. Clara, Elmer's wife, was Randy's great aunt. Do you have any information on Elmer and Clara's progeny and, if so, would you be willing to share?
