I have done genealogy for my family many years. I am also a look-up volunteer for several genealogy websites. Now I am in the process of mapping the Burns, OR cemetery and making a list of all the burials there, marked or not. I am trying to make sure all of them are posted on Find A Grave. Due to the large number of graves I have added (over 2,000 and still adding), I do not have the time to personally add info to the individual graves. I post what info I have at the time. If you have additional info send it to me through the edit tab on the memorial. I am also very willing to transfer ownership of any of the Burns graves so the proper info can be added to each one.

Thank-you for attempting to get a picture of Marjorie Gunkel's headstone. I appreciate you determining the grave is unmarked.

Nels Paulson - #100898572
Thank you for posting death certificates to the Burns Cemetery memorials you've created. I suspect that Nels Paulson is my 2nd great-uncle that I've been searching for for quite some time. I see you have noted that the grave is unmarked. Is he in a known plot in the cemetery?

I last tracked Nels to Umatilla County as a single laborer in 1920, and he had a track record of traveling for work. The age works as well (he was born in 1877 in Norway). If this is him, what a tragic ending.

RE: Donald and Bobbie Corcoran memorials
Hi Scott,

Thank you so much for the photo of my parent's headstone! I was so glad to see their pages. I also sponsored Marie Hindman, who was Bobbie's mother and my grandmother.

I plan to scan in more photos to post on all three pages.

Your work is important, and I hope more people discover, and sponsor their relative's pages.

Bless you!

Harney County Death Certificates
I noticed that you have added Diana Greb's Death Certificate photos to some of your memorials. Are the Harney County ones available online somewhere?

Her photos for Linn County are a bit hard to find, but they are online at the Linn Genealogical Society (

At last report she had not convinced anyone to host the ones for Benton County, but she did send me a disk with all of the ones through 1962. I can furnish those for you if you would like).

I am currently seeking a DC for Martha Bardwell, the mother of Annie (Bardwell) Hurlburt (# 14819266). Martha is supposed to have died in Harney County in 1925; I believe that she is indexed as Martin Bardwell in the Oregon Death Index. Her memorial is # 147770306.

I have a friend in Salem who can fetch & scan individual Death Certificates for me, but if they are available more simply, I would prefer not to trouble her.

Thanks for all of your work at Find a Grave, and have a great weekend!

Are you related to the Vail/Hathaway family
Nellie Irene Vail/Hathaway is my great aunt.
I just discovered this as I was able to uncover our family mystery of WHO our grandfather really was.. Thanks to DNA programs I was able to determine that the RICHARD HALE in our tree (named grandfather) was actually GEORGE W VAIL, Nellies brother.
would like to exchange info if your willing

Thank you for photo
Thank you for the photo of Ronald "Dale" White in the Burns Cemetery. It is very nice. He was a first cousin to my deceased husband in Missouri.
