I enjoy researching my own families as well as helping others research theirs. My own family includes Stephens/Stevens, Ferrell, Christenbury, Ross, Smith, House, Richardson, Broom, Starns, Black, McCall, Elrod, Cartee-Mostly from Charlotte and the surrounding area. Ross' are from South Carolina. The Smiths, Elrods and Cartees are from Anderson, SC. My grandmother, Charlene Dumont, was from Belgium.|
Adding grave photos...
I appreciate very much when someone adds a grave photo to my memorials that do not have them, but if a memorial already has a perfectly good, legible grave photo, please do not add another simply because you have it. This is a chance we take when we walk randomly around cemeteries taking pictures. I know...it happens to me all the time.
Keep in mind that only 5 photos can be added to a memorial without sponsorship. I would rather save that space for family to add personal photos, and every memorial I create is with hope that a family member will find it.
I am very happy to do it. It makes me happy when someone in my memorials is found by a family member. I am also happy to transfer any memorial of someone who is of special interest to you whether you are related or not, as long as your intentions fall within FAG guidelines AND you plan to work with the memorial. If you don't plan to do anything with it, then there is no need for a transfer.
I WILL NOT TRANSFER FAMILY, I do not mind at all if you ask, but please don't be angry if I decline, as I likely will no matter how I am related. I have worked very hard on many of these memorials and I am always going back to research different family members and trying to add new information. So, I consider these memorials MINE. I am open to adding any information you have and I encourage photos, as long as they are accurate and within FAG guidelines.
My favorite contribution to this site is adding photos to memorials that do not have them. Most of my memorials come from the random pictures I take at cemeteries. I try to find some sort of information to add to every memorial I create. If I create a duplicate, just let me know and I will delete it and offer any information and photos to the original memorial.
I am noticing more and more contributors who send edit requests and messages who have no way to be contacted in return. If I can't confirm your request with a quick search, I will simply "decline" it. So, if you receive a "decline", or see no change per your request, perhaps it was because I had no way to contact you to ask for sources. I feel that if you opt to receive no messages, then you should not be able to contact anyone else either.
Please, be nice:-)
I will likely ignore bully demands and opinions. Making a suggestion is one thing. Badgering someone to do things your way is completely different.
**Please, when you can, take a minute to clean off grave markers covered in dirt or grass so that they are not buried forever:-)

Thanks for updating the memorial and for letting me know.

I didn't see section markers. However, as you enter it is on the far right side. It is in a section that has a large white statue in the middle of the section. Tim's grave is on the right side near the edge of the cemetery.
|Barbara Yandle Morales||RE: House Family|
As for the House Family my great-aunt MaryMargaret
Yandle married Andrew's brother Ambrose and they had a ton of children. All though I have scoured both the Charlotte Observer and The Charlotte News
Newspaper I have NOT been able to find an obituary for them. There are pictures of them on line. As for the McCall you mentioned a great deal of the McCall's who lived in Mecklenburg County (especially those who attended the Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill really intermarried with the Yandel/Yandell branch that lived mainly in and around Pineville. In fact my 2nd great-aunt Sarah Elizabeth Yandle the daughter of William Yandle and Elizabeth Harkey Yandle married Miles Milton Yandel who is the son of Samuel Milton Yandel and his first wife
Delilah Massey. Samuel Milton Yandel married 2nd Sarah Elizabeth McCall. I have done extensive research on not only my Yandle/Yandel/Yandell/Yandles line I have also done quite a bit of research on the lines they married into including the House and McCall Lines. In fact a son of my great-uncle William Caldwell Yandle married a daughter of Ambrose House and (his own father's sister) MaryMargaret Yandle. He later on deserted her so her children reverted to using the House surname instead of the Yandle one. I am more than willing to share all I have on the Yandle, House, and McCall's.

librarianship-good cousin to have !]
By the way, I totally agree with you about transferring ownership to another. I will claim what I posted but not what others post. I will add family info if they do not have it but the name should be that of the one who walked the cemeteries, photoing the tombstones.
|William H. Hart||Rose Alexander Smith|
I have updated the listing to include the changes you suggested. Thank you.
Thank you for the additional information. I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond. My real life has kept me busy the last few weeks. Kids are home for summer break.
I appreciate all of your help.

|ncaton||Grice, Roberts, Howard|
Would love to chat, virtually, about our common relatives. I know very little about the Howards. Simon's parents' names and not much else. According to one of Simon's sister's who provided info for several of her siblings' death certificates, Howard was born in Illinois, his father in NC, and his mother in KY. Sounds like a family that left NC for the west, and then returned. Beyond that, I've no clue. His mother's family is supposed to be Pennsylvania Dutch, and supposedly made the Communion wine for the local Lutheran Church.
I do have some info on the Roberts and Grice families.
Funny that Simon's grave is not findable when his Dad's is...
Is there a way to send a private message? I'd happily send you my email.

|Barbara Reid Veino||McGavock Cemetery in Franklin, TN|
Yesterday I was at this cemetery and the graves you are requesting are in bad shape. The markers are very worn by weather and are very hard to read. I wish I could have given you better pics. I live here in Franklin and can get any info from the cemetery you need. I may even be able to find better photos some where. Let me know if I can help further.
Appreciate info and the pictures on Thomas Roberts who died in 1954. He was married to a great aunt, Sarah Grice, sister of my great grandmother Nancy. The middle names were particularly helpful, as the repetition of Martin confirms my suspicion that there's a Martin Grice somewhere in the previous generation.
Nancy Caton in California (can't get to those NC graves very easily, lol)
