If anyone has ties to anyone in my "family" cemetery, I would love to hear from you!!|
I love researching my own family history as well as helping others research theirs.
My own family includes the names Stephens/Stevens, Ferrell, Wentz, Christenbury, House, Smith, Black, McCall, Ross, Richardson, and Donahue (through marriage)from Charlotte and the surrounding area. My grandmother, Charline Josephine Dumont Stephens, was from Leige, Belgium. I have had such a difficult time finding information on the Ross' and I would love to hear from anyone related. (See my "family" virtual cemetery for my Ross relatives.)
Please, be nice:-)
My favorite contribution to this site is adding photos to existing memorials, so if I have created a duplicate, it was definitely not intentional. Just let me know and I will correct it, offering any photos and information to the original memorial.
I am typically willing to add information and make corrections to my memorials on a "good faith" basis, so please make sure your facts are accurate before asking me to post them. I may ask for sources before posting the information. If you are not sure about information, I am perfectly willing to help you search! Please don't hesitate to ask.
Also, please make suggestions and corrections NICELY. Please do not make rude demands or send rude messages. If my memorials and photos are within FAG guidelines, I will likely ignore bully demands and opinions.
Sorry-I do not link to relatives in "unknown" cemetery, as I do not believe this is truly "finding a grave". However, I am happy to add names of relatives to the bio. I also believe this causes alot of confusion when the grave of the person is found, and a memorial is created by someone else in the proper cemetery.
The person who created the original memorial in "unknown" cemetery edits the memorial to the proper cemetery, causing a duplicate, and then forces the creator of the first "legitimate" memorial to delete theirs. This is unfair.
When I find a requested grave and get the photo, I always check to make sure the requested memorial is not a duplicate. If it is, I will post the photo to the first memorial page and do my best to let the requester know where to find the photo.
I am very happy to do it. It makes me happy when someone in my memorials is found by a family member. However, I will only do it with the agreement that my original memorial will not be deleted, and then reposted using my original photo. That is just not cool, and just not necessary! I WILL NOT TRANSFER FAMILY. I do not mind at all if you ask, but please don't be angry if I decline.
**Please, when you can, take a minute to clean off grave markers covered in dirt or grass so that they are not buried forever:-)

Yes This family is a circle inside a circle. You have to know the Census and Insight. I am only related by Marriage of my Aunt. she married William Monroe Yost. I didn't get to meet he died cause of a accident at his work place in Iredall County in 1960's but I love this family and everything about it. Every Aunt and or Uncle by Marriage in my family I study. Thanks for the Information.

I would like permission to use the lovely photos you've taken of the Phifer family monument and individual stones at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Charlotte, on my public family tree. I'll gladly note you and findagrave as my sources.
Thanks for your consideration, Lisa

You're welcome. Sorry we were unsuccessful. My husband and I both searched and we both went thru the cemetery twice not wanting to concede. Found a different Wentz (a female) but not James. Thought it would be easy since it's a small church cemetery, but no go. Good luck to you.

Thank you for your kind note and thanks for your efforts to help get the stones for Farrar family members photographed. Hard job when some of the cemeteries are not in as good of shape as desired. I hope that spring offers a good opportunity to make progress. Thanks again for all that you do to help families.
