|Irish Michael||Heaney grave in St. Peter's|
Thanks for taking the photo of the Heaney grave in St. Peter's Cemetery.
I have made a group for all the burials in this grave. Can you please attach your photo to the rest. Thanks!

Thank you so much! I knew that the Zills were in Moravian....the other family members are completely missing. I can't find obituaries or any info on where they are buried. I strongly hoped that the family was in the same cemetery....looks like that is not the case. I truly appreciate your help and all your volunteering for findagrave.

I am in Colorado so I've had to research Moravian on-line. Usually records are put on-line so even if I can't find a burial on findagrave...I can find the name and create a person so that I can make a photo request. In learning about Moravian, there is a guy, Richard Simpson, who gives tours and seems to have the info about names. For him to research a name costs $20 and to take a photo is $10. Things that all of us volunteers do for free to help people....
Greatly appreciate that you'll keep these names in mind.

I see that you are a big contributor for the Moravian Cemetery. I have a bit of a mystery. I am looking for the Merkt, Bomhard and Zill families. I finally found in an obit that Minna Poock Zill is in Moravian Cemetery (but not photographed). She is the sister-in-law of the family I am searching for - married to Oswald Zill, the brother of my subject: Thecla Zill Merkt.
In total, I am looking for: Adolph Merkt (1847-1916 Jamaica NY), his wife, Thecla Zill (1855-1936), her brother and sister-in-law (Oswald & Minna), Merkt 8 kids and families (unknown, Eugenie & Adolph Bomhard, Oswald & Anna Merkt, Frida Adelina (died young), Adolph & Eleanor, Emma & William Scharf, Otelia & Edward Roach, and Theodore & Helen Merkt).
I know I can pay Simpson a bazillion dollars to do this but if someone who is already in the cemetery is able to take pictures of these families I would really appreciate it. And I am not even sure that the family is there....
Here's to hoping ;)

I guess I didn't take a good look at the date of your note about this grave. I could never understand why they actually bothered to remove the stones and still left a few there. So the markers are obliterated or in storage.... I'm having a great time running around cemeteries taking pictures...it's nice to know I'm not the only one doing that. My wife thinks I'm nuts! Tim

Hi Rob- This is so weird, while I didn't claim the picture, I walk daily in the SSH cemetery and checked again to see if Small was there. I was just there an hour ago and saw all the footprints around the few stones that were left....I guess that was you! So the Staten Island contingent is working overtime! TimV
