William Twigg & Sailors' Snug Harbor
I noticed that you had created a nice memorial for William Twigg, who is interred at the Sailors' Snug Harbor Cemetery. Are you a descendant of William? I'm also a descendant of a mariner who resided at Sailors' Snug Harbor and is interred at the SSH Cemetery. If you are interested in more information about recent efforts regarding the status of SSH Cemetery and the SSH Records, you can contact me at the email address listed on my member name profile.

Edward Becraft
Rob--I remember that you asked if I had come across any Becrafts from the Johnsontown/Sloatsburg area. The other day, my sister was looking thru some old boxes of paperwork that belonged to my mother. In is, she found a photo of a little boy—Edward Becraft. If you would like a copy of the photo, please email.

RE: Oswald and Minna Zill at Moravian Cemetery
Thank you so much! I knew that the Zills were in Moravian....the other family members are completely missing. I can't find obituaries or any info on where they are buried. I strongly hoped that the family was in the same cemetery....looks like that is not the case. I truly appreciate your help and all your volunteering for findagrave.

RE: Moravian Cemetery
I am in Colorado so I've had to research Moravian on-line. Usually records are put on-line so even if I can't find a burial on findagrave...I can find the name and create a person so that I can make a photo request. In learning about Moravian, there is a guy, Richard Simpson, who gives tours and seems to have the info about names. For him to research a name costs $20 and to take a photo is $10. Things that all of us volunteers do for free to help people....

Greatly appreciate that you'll keep these names in mind.

Moravian Cemetery
I see that you are a big contributor for the Moravian Cemetery. I have a bit of a mystery. I am looking for the Merkt, Bomhard and Zill families. I finally found in an obit that Minna Poock Zill is in Moravian Cemetery (but not photographed). She is the sister-in-law of the family I am searching for - married to Oswald Zill, the brother of my subject: Thecla Zill Merkt.

In total, I am looking for: Adolph Merkt (1847-1916 Jamaica NY), his wife, Thecla Zill (1855-1936), her brother and sister-in-law (Oswald & Minna), Merkt 8 kids and families (unknown, Eugenie & Adolph Bomhard, Oswald & Anna Merkt, Frida Adelina (died young), Adolph & Eleanor, Emma & William Scharf, Otelia & Edward Roach, and Theodore & Helen Merkt).

I know I can pay Simpson a bazillion dollars to do this but if someone who is already in the cemetery is able to take pictures of these families I would really appreciate it. And I am not even sure that the family is there....

Here's to hoping ;)
