Bio and Links
I've written and published two family history books and the history of Berryton for its 1986 Centennial.

I have just finished going through three books about Topekans in 1905, 1934 and 1956 for the third time. They were WHO'S WHO and BUILDERS OF TOPEKA. Also, I'm adding bios from WHO'S WHO IN THE WORLD, 1912. There are still many biographies that need to be added, once their tombstones are copied. I'll put the books away for another year and go back and try to find some more.

About 25 years ago, the local historical society put all the Shawnee County marriage applications up to 1913 on microfilm. They discarded the originals and allowed persons to take names of those they recognized. I gave my old mailman about 50 and he delivered them to people in our township. I have given away hundreds of them. I still had some left over, so I put them on FAG.

Question
Does any of your research in Topeka show anything about a Charles Brunger Harris? Married to Lida M. Shore -- children Earl, Ina, Eldon. He was a blacksmith in Parsons in 1910 and was there at least until 1913. Then they lived in Topeka in 1920 at 1122 N. Quincy. He was a laborer for the gas company. I have not been able to find his death or burial but would absolutely love to find an obituary for him if we could track down a death date. He was born 26 July 1868 in Indiana, Allegheny, PA to George and Elizabeth (Dodd) Harris. I would be glad to reimburse for expenses/research if you're interested. You can contact me at julijarvis@gmail.com. I also have extensive information about his ancestry, if any descendants there are interested.

Charles S. Foos
Thanks for the information about Charles S. Foos. I attended the grade school named in his honor. I found his grave by accident and knew immediately who he was. I'm honored to be the one to create a memorial for him. Thanks again.
