I retired as an elementary school principal in 2000. As a person that sleeps only 4 hours a night that leaves 20 hours to fill. Sitting home is not an option. Now, I drive a school bus 5 hours a day and visit cemeteries every chance I get. I have never been to a cemetery that charged admission and seldom is there a crowd. My wife, Sandra, is of a like mind so it works well. We both enjoy the hunt and the thrill that comes with each discovery. Let us know if we can help. If you have additional information on one of my post or you are a relative and want ownership, I will gladly transfer it to you. Just ask. Oh! By the way just call me Doc!|
NOTE: Many times the family plot has names different from those on the headstone. I always attempt to provide a reference point for markers. Hope this is not confusing.
Two quotes worth remembering:
"Tread softly, dreams are buried here." Unknown
"If you wonder about your 'roots' you have two parents, four grandparents eight great-grandparents and 16 great-great-grandparents, and by the time you go back 10 generations 300 years or so- you had 1,024 people from whom you are directly descended. --Mady Castro

On Ida's page you have listed father Rufus and mother Julie Honeycutt. Can you please tell me where you found the mothers name. Ida's death certificate says mothers name was Ida Honeycutt Thanks!!!
|Teresa Chaney Humphries||Ida O Hinsen Chaney - Hollywood Cem.|
Could you please change the birth date from Janurary to February. It is correct on the headstone.
I thank you for your fine work and dedication. I wish this site, and you, had been around twenty years ago. You are doing an awesome job to help other families.

You own memorial 89197909 for James Theodore Morris in the Morris Family Cemetery. There is a memorial 102553007 for James Theodora (correct spelling) Morris in the Morris-Rankin Cemetery with a gravestone photo and the correct parents. These are the same person and I believe that these are the same cemeteries. I have asked Find A Grave to merge the cemeteries.
Since Morris-Rankin is the correct name of the cemetery and the other memorial has photos, correct name spelling and correct parents, it would be easiest if you deleted your duplicate created the same year as the other. The duplicates linked to different mothers and the same father are causing much confusion.

Thank you for taking this photo! Looks like I need to research that birth date.

Richard, please go to the following memorial and remove the photo of the military service grave marker. It was place in error as this individual did not serve in the Confederate forces.

Hi doc - I was wondering where you got the photo of the map for Green Hills Cemetery in Asheville?

Hello Richard. I have recently received a request for an edit to one of my contributions. Can you put your hands on an obit for the above memorial, Olin Grady Wilson. This would help me to confirm the information I am seeking. Thank you,
Anna Mae Baxter
