Hi, I'm Haley Amber. I was born in Portland, ME, January 3, 1995. I was introduced to history and genealogy at a young age by my father, who is very dear to me and is always my traveling buddy on our cemetery searches across Maine. Marble stones can be interesting, but we both prefer the slate stones. |
Your tombstone stands among the rest, Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out...On old gray granite stone.
It reaches out to all who care...It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist...You died...and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you...In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse...Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled...One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left...Who would have loved you so.
I wonder when you lived and loved; I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot...And come and visit you."

Would it be possible for you to transfer John Forhan #100457377 to me? I have added many of his family on this site as his father is my direct ancestor. Thanks.
Thank you for the transfer of this memorial. Let me know if I can reciprocate some time. Amy

Once again, thanks for the transfer. Nice to know there are some who really want to see family connected with family. I have other transfer requests -- how do you want me to handle them - through the EDIT tab or through this Public Message. They are all very closely related family members. Please let me know how you want the requests.
Thanks so much.
Thanks again for the following transfers. I so much appreciate it. I'm working on their updates as time allows.

Aww, thank you for sharing- beautiful!! !
Mary Seabury, I found you made her grave and am wondering if her maiden name is Harris, and if her parents are also here? No need to do research for me, but am doing thinking out loud, as I try to connect a few of our muddled family connections!
