Born and raised in Fresno, California of Alabama born parents, got into Genealogy in 1997 when I could not figure out what else to do with this computer on-line. I have built up quite a lot of pictures of old shots of the cemeteries of Clay County and Jefferson County Alabama. I have visited most of the cemeteries of my ancestors and my Wife's ancestors in Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. A Self-proclaimed Historian with a California Historical society (E Clampus Vitus), I am visiting places of historical interest and with my trusty Dimage , Vivitar and Olympus digital cameras have been taking pictures of headstones at whatever cemeteries we may visit and Historical Monuments in our travels in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Washington. In Fresno, I have added the 1919 biographies of early Fresno residents from the Paul E Vandor book titled "The History of Fresno County" to as many listings as I could. If you have something you would like to have added to a Bio, just drop me a line.|
I follow FindaGrave rules and usually transfer close relatives within 30 days. You can complain to the FindaGrave administrators if you want, but you will likely find they too have little patience for impatient people.

Hey Cousin!! It is wonderful to meet a new relative. William Elijah Luker's (my 2nd great-granddaddy) family pretty much stayed here in the south Talladega County area... Sycamore, Alpine, Sylacauga, etc. It is wonderful that our family all live close and have family reunions once a year, all us cousins are close and love each other dearly. So glad my granddaddy and his brothers and sisters made sure that we all grew up together and maintained close bonds.
Funny you mention the Lukers & Machens intermarrying, my paternal grandmother Agnes Morris Luker was descended from the line of Machens as was my paternal granddaddy (her husband) William Louie Luker. So they were 3rd(?) cousins (not looking at my paperwork). "It" was something that wasn't talked about.. LOL. Hope we stay in touch. My ancestry.com is public, you are welcome to go look. I would be so interested in looking at your work. Thank you so much for contacting me! Love to you and my new relatives, Page

I have sent you an edit for the following:
Ophelia Luvenia Machen Luker (9297223) was the only child of Sarah Jane Machen (35662527).
Ophelia was born out-of-wedlock to Sarah Jane and her biological father remains unknown at this time.
Ophelia is my paternal great-grandmother, thus Sarah Jane my paternal great-great-grandmother.
It is amazing how much my mother looks like Ophelia.
Thank you in advance for making this edit.

There are 2 identical photos of his stone for his memorial.

The photo you have on Carol's page is for a man named Clarence.
|Audrey Steffee||RE: Ken Butterfield|
There is a Kenneth Butterfield listed in the Cypress Lawn Memorial Park Where is grandmother is buried. His name is on the headstone there with a birth date of 1937 and no death date. I can send you a picture of this head stone if you are interested.
The information you have listed can be transferred to this listing.
Let me know

Thanks for your response.
I have a Kenneth Kay Butterfield that was born
07 Mar 1932 in Contra Costa County, California and died 13 Dec 2005 Twain, Plumas, California. Without a copy of the death certificate I believe he is the same person that is buried in this cemetery. His father was Pursell Sherman Butterfield and his mother was Frances Eleanor Campbell.
Do you live close to this cemetery to get interment records for him. I think I sent for some sometime past. Will have to look and see and get back to you.
|Susan Bowen||Thank you|
Thanks for your work. I didn't even know my grandfather had a grave marker.

Do you have a death record for this person.
|MWH||RE: Photo Use|
Yes, I think it is redundant to ask too b/c the photo shows up on ancestry search within the find a grave info, but some folks are kind of strange about pics of my relatives headstones. Don't misunderstand I am very grateful to all you guys who take the time & energy to photograph; just agree with you. It helps me a lot if the Find A Grave bio gives blanket permission. And I do copy the pic so I can add it to my tree w the pic on the tree (versus it just being a link to a source). Anyway thank you so much for your permission & taking the time to do the upload.

May I use your photos of the Chase/Cart Headstones on my Ancestry tree? Thanks
