Bio Photo For those of you asking for edits, transfers and just about anything, my sister/best friend has passed away, along with 3 other family members. I ask for your patience and understanding. Right now, I am not ready to come to this site. I promise in time I can get back here. Thanks!! (10/2014)

I do this for the history, for the genealogists, for the kind hearted, and for those of us left behind by the loss of our loved ones. Rest in peace mom, I miss you so very much.

Since I am human, I do make mistakes! If you find an error, let me know, and I will make changes as soon as I possibly can. If the changes requested are lengthy and detailed, I am somewhat disabled, I will transfer ownership. If you are a relative of an individual I have listed, please let me know and I will transfer ownership to you. ****A piece of advice - when your sending/requesting a correction to a listing someone has created here - think about how you are saying it and what you are going to say....reread before you hit that send button. Sometimes a person can come across as being rude and not meaning to. It's all in the wording!!

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE RUDE, MEAN & DISRESPECTFUL WITH REQUESTS, COMMENTS, ETC., KEEP THEM TO YOURSELF. I WILL IGNORE & DELETE WITH NO ACTION TAKEN.

I will not transfer any memorial created by me through the International War Photography Project. Also, the photos I have uploaded for IWPP do not belong to me, so out of respect for the true owner of the photos, please do not use them without consent from IWPP.

And secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you,
No one can ever know". (author unknown)

Abraham Anthony
Abraham Anthony, Memorial 16559643 buried in File Cemetery, Pocahontas, Bond Co., Illinois

Just want you to know that Abraham's spouse was not Mary Hagler File. Mary was his mother. His father died back in North Carolina and Abraham came to Bond Co., Illinois with his step father and mother.
See attached:

Henry File 1776

Henry File Family of Bond Co., Illinois
Posted 06 Feb 2012 by RhondaP511
In the 1700's the name of File was variously spelled as Pheil, Feil, Foil, Feile, but when the line of Henry File came to Bond County, Illinois, the name was spelled as File. Very probably the name of File is among those who in the 1700's came from Germany to Pennsylvania, then migrated with other Germans into Virginia and North Carolina, settling in the latter state where others of their nationality had earlier taken up land.
In St. John's Lutheran Church records, Cabarrus County, North Carolina is the following statement:
"Rev. Adam Nicolas Marcard married Henry Feile, youngest son of deceased Jacob Feile to Margaret Riep, youngest legitimate daughter of deceased Augustine Riep, on Dec. 12, 1797."
(date of Dec. 6, also given, which is probly the marriage bond).
Henry File of Bond County, also called Henry Oliver File (though the name of Oliver is only found in one write up) was born July 4, 1776 in North Carolina, probably in, either Rowan or Mecklenburg County, North Carolina; died June 18, 1836, and is buried in the File cemetery, Bond County Illinois.
Henry File first married Margaret Reep (see above). Margaret died about 1810 and left five children (children numbered A-B-C-D-E).
Henry then married the widow Mary (Higler) Anthony on 5-25-1811 Cabarus County, North Carolina. She had first married _______Anthony and by him had one son Abraham Anthony who came to Bond County with his mother and step-father (see write-up of Abraham Anthony at end of history). By this second marriage Henry and wife had six children (numbered F-G-H-I-J-K).
Henry born July 4, 1776; died 6-18-1836, buried in File cemetery; stone says he died age 60 years. Mary (Hagler) Anthony-File born 1-9-1786 in North Carolina; died Jan. 9, 1846, buried in File Cemetery. The familly maoved to Tennesse about 1815 and then were in Bond County by year of 1820. In two of the son's census records it is stated that the son's were born in Indiana. It is not known whether this is true or not.
In Rowan County, North Carolina the family were members of the Organ Lutheran Church of that county for two birth records are recorded there with the father listed as Henry File:
George Henry Feile born Oct. 17, 1798; father Henry Feile.
Daniel Feile born May 12, 1801, son of Henry Feile.
1800 census of Cabarrus County, North Carolina:
Henry File: 1 m. 0-10; 1 m. 16-26;/ 1f. 16-26
1820 census Bond County, Illinois:Henry File: 5 males under 21 years of age; 2 males over 21; 4 females
1830 census Bond County, Illinois:Henry File: 1 male 5-10; 2 m. 10-15; 1 m. 15-20; 1 m. 50-60;/ 1 f. 5-10;1 f. 10-15; 1 f. 15-20; 1 f. 40-50
1840 census Bond County:Mary File: 1 m. 20-30;/ 1 f. 40-50
When Henry File came to Bond County he owned land north of the state road and between the two bridges where he farmed and operated a still for the neighborhood; later on when he moved, the still was taken over by his son Moses. Later Henry moved south of the present hard road and lived on the prairie, and from his farm land he laid out the family burying ground which bears his name. It is said that he was the first to be buried there.
Henry File was appointed as fence viewer for township 5-range 4 which is Old Ripley township. His task meant that he inspected boundary lines in land disputes. Appointment made March, 1834 (Bond County Board Minutes, 1817-1839, p.27. His land was used as a basis for division of District 15, on March, 1834.
The estate file for Henry File (#42) found in Bond County, estate file approved by July 1836. Daniel and Moses File executors of estate. From file these various documents show members of the family:

So sorry for your loss
Having had many losses in my family including the loss of my daughter (and best friend) only a year or so ago, I feel your pain.

During this difficult time, there are only three things you should do:
1. Do only what you absolutely must do.
2. Do only what you want to do. (Everything else can wait!)
3. If you are a person of faith, pray for divine help.

My best to you.

RE: John and Sarah Clifford
Sharon,

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your sister...please accept my most sincere condolences. I haven't responded in a while due to the four eye operations I've had in the last month and a half. Finally on the mend. I was wondering if you've been able to find John and Sarah Clifford and maybe take some pictures of their gravesites? Anyway, I'd appreciate any help. In the meantime, take care for this will be a great year for us all.

Jim
