Bio

I am a wife and mother from Baltimore, Maryland. I actually found out about this site from a friend who had set up a memorial for her loved one and decided to check it out. Find-A-Grave.com has become my therapy since my father Nathan Wayman "Wayne" Hicks passed away on November 18, 2006 from Alzheimer's Disease (Dementia). My father was my best friend and I loved him so much. Losing him had crushed my spirit and had shaken my faith with God. Over time, through family and friends, I have learned to try to go on. It's not easy, but at least I try. As each new day arises, I reflect on my dad and try to remember that he would not have wanted me to be depressed. He wants me to live life to the fullest. That's the goal that I try to fulfill every day. Find-A-Grave has become my labor of love to him and all of my other beloved family and friends.

I want to thank everyone that visited my dad's memorial. The beautiful tokens, flowers and heartfelt messages have deeply touched me and I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. I will also make it my business to visit as many memorials that I can. Everyone deserves to be loved and remembered.

Update 1/11/24: My mother (Virginia Hicks) passed away on 12/14/23 and is now listed on the F.A.G. site.
