I have always loved to visit and walk through cemeteries. I love OLD Hollywood and would love to visit the cemeteries of Los Angeles (Hollywood Forever in particular). I recently visited New Orleans just to see the Cities of the Dead and they were quite different than what I had imagined. But definitely unique and beautiful! I want to go back soon and see all of the old cemeteries there, as there are a lot of them.

UPDATE as of July 2007:
I FINALLY made my way to Hollywood to see Hollywood Forever Cemetery and Westwood to see Marilyn Monroe's grave. Westwood is small and tranquil, and I met a fellow findagraver there. Hollywood Forever was different than I imagined, I was in awe when I accidentally ran across Valentino's grave as I was looking for William Desmond Taylor.

Oct 2007: We went back to New Orleans and found Lafayette Cemeteries 1 and 2, St. Joseph and Metairie. Lafayette #1 was really neat (and filled with tourists). Metairie was absolutely gorgeous!

April 2008: Went to Graceland and visited Elvis Presley's grave. Stopped by Vicksburg, MS Civil War Battlefield and saw civil war graves.
