Vaughan I did some more checking. You were partially correct. Granville's father is GP Vaughan but his mother is JG Vaughan memorial 126222566 which I have suggested an edit for since it should read J(udith) C(atherine).
RE: Discrepancy concerning Daniel A Lambert Ms Marple, Thank you for contacting me concerning Daniel A. Lambert's date/year of death. I do not have definitive evidence as to which date/year is correct. However, Larry Lambert who is also from Prentiss County, MS placed the marker that you see on his memorial here on FindAGrave. Larry knows a lot about our family history and Mr Daniel Lambert is Larry's Great-Grandfather, so I would trust his information above any one else. I will try to meet with Larry this coming Wednesday if I can catch him at his place of business and ask him what his source is for Mr Daniel's year of death. I have noticed before that Cindy Rorie created a memorial for Daniel and has his year of death as 1932 when the picture of his marker clearly shows 1883. If his year of death were truly 1932, it would mean that not only Daniel, but 2 of his brothers also died in the same year. My Great Grandfather Wilburn Hoyt Lambert died in 1932 and I have his death certificate. I believe I also have William's death certificate as well. It is entirely possible of course that 3 siblings could die in the same year but it would seem strange. The Fondren Cemetery is about 1/10 of a mile from the Old Freewill Cemetery so I believe they are in fact two separate cemeteries. The structure that looks like a church building in the Old Freewill Cemetery is actually a cover built over William Lambert and wife's grave. The Old Freewill church was across the road from the cemetery and served as the "Lambert" Voting Precinct many years ago. I can remember the old church and went inside it on a couple of occasions. It was abandoned at the time. Tragically, someone burned it about 20 years ago. There are still bricks from the chimney and foundation laying around. I brought two bricks home with me a couple years ago just as a memento. If my memory is correct, Daniel is in fact buried at the Old Freewill, but I will go by there on Wednesday also, weather permitting, and double check. The Cemetery is on a dirt road and is nearly impassable when it rains. I would love to get any information/pictures on our Lambert's that you have. I'm sure you have something that I don't. My family tree is "DonaldLambert42" on Ancestry.com if you have an account and haven't already looked at it. Thanks again! Don
RE: George Lambert George W. Lambert was my great-grandfather on my mother's side. I have some information about him and would be glad to send it to you. If you would like to have it, you could send me an address to mail it to. My email is: firstname.lastname@example.org Looking forward to hearing from you, Jane Wood
"Lost Grandmothers" Sorry to say I have had no success in finding your Grandparents. Some cemeteries were recorded in the '60's, thought maybe would find them there.(USWarchives). The obit from C.C. said he moved from Piney Grove to Walnut Grove, so I checked there, too. The cemetery listing for Walnut Grove shows no unmarked or unknown graves. Alot of records were lost or not recorded properly during this time. I read the history of Walnut Grove Church where C.C. was minister, thinking they might be mentioned , but no such luck. Have you thought that he might have carried Elizabeth back to where they moved from, if she had parents there.. So sorry to be no help, but I will keep looking. (I found three different birth & death dates listed for Cynthia P., (2nd wife of C.C.). Best Regards, June
Ella Vaughan Have added more links and corrected the marriage date. (That was MY goof). Answer to question-Yes. Any time that I can. How can I help? When you want to maintain a relatives memorial, just ask from the memorial transfer edit.
