First I want to say a big "thank you" to everyone who leaves my twins and family tokens, I am very grateful. |
My dad died in 1972 when I was 9 days old and to this day I have not been able to find his resting place which is why I do what I'm doing here as I know how hard it is to find a loved one's resting place.
I can go to cemeteries in Enfield, Edmonton, Cheshunt, Chingford, Clacton, Colchester, Feltham, Heathrow, Waltham Abbey, Walthamstow and areas around them, maybe I can go further out, all depends how far. I can help with your searching for your loved ones grave in England if your not in England. I can also help with any research you may want help with in the same areas or in the UK if you are from a different country. I have the National Burial Index, second edition and will get the third when it is available, so if you would like me to do a look up, then just ask and I will quite happily.
If there is a memorial I have done for a loved one of your family and you would like it removed/changed or transfered then please email me and I will do it for you, or if there is any mistakes or anything else wrong with a memorial I have done please let me know.
A noteworthy inscription found on a soldier’s headstone in an English country churchyard reads:
Take nothing but photographs
Kill nothing but time
Leave nothing but Footprints
***I am sorry for very late replies to emails, corrections etc lately but have had problems with my email address, so have made a new one, sorry for inconvenience***

|Diane McBain||Herbert Bean's Grave|
Thank you so much for the lovely pictures of Herbert's resting place. For a long time Herbert was missing from the family tree and we had no idea what happened to him. Another mystery solved.
Again, many thanks!
|Glenn Gaeke||RE: Herbert Reichle|
Thank you so much for the care you obviously took taking the photo of Herbert Reichle's final resting place. Herbert was a second cousin contemporary with my father. I never actually knew him, but I will be spending some time with his surviving nieces in Texas, in a couple weeks, they will be delighted to see the photo you took. I also want to thank you for waiting for Memorial Day, I would not have even thought of that. The flags were a very special touch.

I wanted to thank you for taking the picture of Herbert Reichle's grave. Having died during Operation Dragoon, in 1944, most of his American family would have never seen his final resting place.
Thank you so much.

Thank you for the pics and for letting me know. The pics look great!
Thank you very much for the transfer.

|Erwin de Mooij||RE: Oscar Hightower|
not so long ago I contacted you about permission to use a photo of Oscar Hightower's grave marker.
I found another grave marker of mister Rochard Mack and I was wondering if I could use this one too. If there are any other photos of 457th BG members do I have permission to use these? Or do you want me to ask for permission everytime?
Thank you for your help.

|DIMITRIOS CORCODILOS||RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 126394658, John English Urwin|
You’re welcome. Next time I’m in the area I’ll see if they’ve added a headstone.
Since he was living at Stocksfield when he enlisted and at the time of his death, it’s likely that he’ll have family buried at Chollerton, which is about fifteen miles away.
I was passing through near-by Thropton recently and photographed and added Find A Grave Memorial# 146202600, Cpl Joseph Murphy, Northumberland Fusiliers. His CWCG website entry says “The Commission is in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave”. Well, it’s already there and looks brand new. So, they might have got round to adding a headstone for John Urwin.
When I saw Corporal Murphy’s I thought of visiting Chollerton, but was short of time.
Also pleased to help with John Welton.
