Within a few minutes of a friend telling me about Find A Grave, I found my great-great grandparents' gravestone in Hopedale Cemetery, Christian Co., MO. They were Gabriel and Talitha Reynolds McMullin. First I let out a shriek! then I sat looking at the picture, tears falling down my face. I never thought I'd see their final resting place. I've added old photos of their family to their pages. I'm still hoping to make contact with someone there. (Success!) Thank you to their visitors for honoring them with flowers and tokens, they are appreciated. |
Since that day I have found other ancestors on Find A Grave. A special thank you to M. Correll and "jtf" for so many of the Wayne County, KY memorials and photos. The photos taken by Ronald Bicknese in Bills Creek Cemetery are also very special treasures. I will always be thankful for his effort to find my York 4th great-grandparents in that remote cemetery. Thanks to Robie Prater for his many photos and book HACKWORTHS AND RELATED FAMILIES in Floyd County KY.
Sincere appreciation to God's Special Angel for sponsoring our Mommaw and Poppaw Estes. They were sweet, gentle people. Thanks to all who have left flowers and tokens for them, and for other family and friends.
My friend's missing father:
Sgt. J.W. Davis. When his final resting place is found an 'in memory' marker will be placed with his parents in Lucedale, MS. Flowers and tokens will be appreciated.
Many thanks, for Linda's daddy.

May I use your pictures for my family tree? Photo courtesy given. I am related to the Killens. Thanks so much. It is great to go to Find A Grave and find helpful information. I love to put dates and connections on my memorials to help others.
|Kentucky Hill Hunter||Uncle Jim Hill and Aunt Nannie Relative|
Hope you've been well since we last spoke, Mrs. Shell! I've been working on finding those Shell relatives in VA for you (Andrew Jackson Shell's relatives).
Are you related to uncle Jim (46082021) and aunt Nannie Hill (46082088)? Nannie and grandpa were double first cousins. She and uncle Jim ran the little store over on Abbott Creek, but it was burned the year before last. Her sons, Scott (46081801) and Tom(46081919)are buried there with her. One of them passed from a tree cutting accident if I'm remembering correctly. He had one arm from another accident years before. Scott's daughter passed away just last year.
I was wondering if it would be at possible for me to take care of their memorials? If so, I'd really appreciate it.
Take care and hope to hear from you soon. If I can find those Shell's for you I'll let you know ASAP.

Thank you. Mr. Combs might be a distant relative. It was so very nice of you to think of me. I sure appreciate the thought. If I find a connection I will let you know. Thanks for all your work.

I saw your message on the memorial for Martha...I'm looking into my biological roots..I'm hoping to learn the History of Martha...I find her in several census along with my Grandfather...but I can't quite figure out how my grandfather had the last name of Thomas...yet it shows Martha as being his mother..and Solomon as being his step father....on my grandfathers death notice it lists his father as David...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Christmas photo...is it the adorable one with the wooden rocking horse?
I forgot to mention it is William "Bill" Pittmans headstone
I found where you put my papaw headstone on here, was wondering if you ever found any more info on him. Supposedly my sister and I have an uncle in Indiana, don't know if he is alive or deceased.
