I removed Lillie as spouse of John, but you will have to remove Howard as the son because I don't control that memorial. Sorry for any trouble!
John and Sarah Greer Maxey are my husbands - 4rh great grandparents. I am doing family history and his DNA confirmed the Maxey side of family. He is a Durden
Would love to communicate with you. My personal email is firstname.lastname@example.org
You are welcome. Glad I could help.

Manakin 2 would be the correct location.

Do you live in Fayette County? If not, it would probably be a good idea for me to send you the updated list. There is one at the library in the cemetery book. I have a feeling that some of your information came from the old DAR survey. There were several mistakes on that list. Because the McIlwains, Smiths, and others are my family, I went there and made a corrected list. The information that I added (stones that were uncovered by the cemetery commission) is in the memorials I added. I will try to look at the entire list and see what needs to be changed. For instance, the Stanton boys that the DAR listed as Twins(?) is actually one child. Without getting out the list, I can't remember if the child was named Bruce Horace or Horace Bruce, but it's only one child. I also think I have a disc with photos of all the stones. I don't mean to be so picky, but this particular cemetery is very dear to me, and I spent a lot of time straightening out the records. Thanks

While I appreciate that you have added many of the graves at Old Waters, I don't know if you have been there. I did a very detailed survey of the cemetery after it was rehabilitated by the county cemetery commission, including the inscriptions on the stones when readable. Please correct the information on the McIwain sisters, Malinda 38012545 and Mary. Their parents were James and Phoebe Cullins McIlwain. You have their parents listed as J. & S. Should be J. and P. If you would like a copy of the list, please let me know.
|Donna Cullins Schroeder||Smiths|
That's fine. Didn't mean to try and take anyone. My gr gr grandmother was Jane Smith Cullins, daughter of Moses Smith of Abbeville SC. She came to Indiana with her family about 1829. I believe that Ebenezer was her uncle. She lived with James Smith toward the end of her life. If you don't mind, I will just post the obit as a photo. Do you live in Fayette County?
|Donna Cullins Schroeder||Old Waters|
I have an obit for E.A. Smith who is buried there. If the Smiths aren't your line, would you want to transfer them to me or - if I send info - will you please add it? Obit is very detailed story of his father going to the camp where he was dying and bringing his body back to Fayette County.
The McIlwains and Smiths in the cemetery are my line. E. A.'s #38012545
|Gerilynn Campbell-Bates||Manakin Cemetery|
The Proper Name for the Cemetery is:
"Manakin Episcopal Church Cemetery".
Manakin Episcopal Church Cemetery
985 Huguenot Trail
Midlothian, VA 23113
Directions: From Midlothian, Va., go west on Rt. 60 for approximately 3 miles and turn right onto Rt. 607 (Huguenot Springs Road). Go 4 miles and turn left onto Rt. 711. Go .5miles and the church and cemetery is on the left.
Please correct your entries on Find A Grave, in case someone would like to visit their loved ones or ancestors.
Thanks a Million
