Bio

I am Harla Jean Bateman Wallace "Jean", daughter of Harley Dean Bateman and Ruth Green Bateman. I was born in 1941 in Abilene, TX, Taylor Co. and married Billy Dan Wallace "Bill" (born in 1938) in 1958. We have a son, Curtis Lee "Curt" (1959) and a daughter, Janet Maurine "Jan" (1963). They are both married and each have a daughter and a son which gives us 4 beautiful grandchildren. Our oldest grandchild married in 2006 and now we have a wonderful grandson-in-law to add to our family.
Bill and I have been doing our family history research for about 20+ years and usually do our own families but at times we help each other with theirs too. For the most part, we enjoy genealogy but then there are those infernal "brick walls" now and then. If you are visiting my part of this site and see some information in it that you know is wrong or you can add to, please contact me by e-mail. I would appreciate any help any one can give me.
If I find an obituary in the newspaper that has good information in it I will add it in because although I don't know those people I think it is good to add it for those who need that info. I don't do it for the numbers. I hate this numbers system. If I have added someone you need and can prove close relationship to, I will be glad to add whatever info you want added or even transfer it to you.
