Ethel Anna (Glass) Walter
Dear Joan, While researching a Wm. Glass & Emma Smith Glass (not your relatives) I came across your relatives and Ethel Anna (Glass) Walter. Here is the problem I found. You created memorial#90418176 for her but placed it in Claysburg Union Cemetery. She is not in that cemetery and another memorial for her containing a photo of her gravestone is listed in the correct cemetery: River View Cemetery memorial#160898171
I went looking for her there because that is the cemetery on her death certificate. Find-A-Grave rules are that the first memorial in the correct cemetery is preferred. Here is a solution, ask edit@findagrave to do a merge of the two memorials If you ask, they will probably give the memorial to you. Best Wishes, Lily (researcher on Find-A-Grave)

RE: Merrill Farm Cemetery
I think that's the best place to start. And, as you say, cemeteries can have many different names - or none at all! Often the names we give are for convenience in reporting, and weren't used all that often, if the cemetery is a small family one. Good luck!

RE: Merrill Farm Cemetery
Well, it's an interesting story. I'm a member of a Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness group on Facebook, and another member of that group, who isn't a Find A Grave member, happened on the cemetery and took the photos, but didn't know which cemetery it was (not marked).

I helped her find it on Find A Grave (it was already listed with all the burials listed, which matched what she had in photos). Since I'm more experienced with uploading photos there, and since neither of us really had any connection to it, she sent me the photos to upload.

So, unfortunately, I think neither of us can answer your question. I don't know who created the cemetery listing, but suspect it would have been the person who created the individual memorials, so I'd suggest trying to contact that person (Kevin Clement). I believe I sent some edits at the time I posted the photos and that they were done, so hopefully he's still active here on Find A Grave.

If you want to check out the thread on Facebook that started this for me, it's on the Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness (RAOGK) group (you can search for McRobie - that's how I found it). You may have to be a member? Anyway, Beth may be able to tell you exactly where it's located.

Hope this helps a little! :-)
Mary

Ranger Adams
Ida Adams
Hi Joan,
My name is Ranger Adams. I am the son of Earl Adams who was the son of Ida Raub Adams and Jacob S Adams Sr. I wish to thank you for doing what you have done. Finding information about old family can be frustrating. At least I see that I have at least one living relative back there. Thank you.

DPC History Committee
Doylestown Presbyterian Church Graves
Hi Joan,

My name is Holly Mullin and I am the graveyard specialist on the Doylestown Presbyterian Church History Committee. We are in the process of photographing headstones and updating information for all of the persons interred in our graveyard, as well as preserving the headstones as much as we can.

Thank you for the work you have done to manage the seven graves in our churchyard - and for the information you added.

Would you be willing to transfer these graves to our committee? The advantage would be less edit requests to you, and also perpetual management, as ours is a standing committee at DPC. There will always be someone in the future to manage the graves.

If you choose not to transfer, then I would ask that you please identify us as the successors should you become incapacitated. Am happy to chat on phone, or meet in person to explain what we are trying to do.

Thanks for considering this request & with sincere thanks, Holly

Susan Makin Boring #39966964
Hi Joan. I am writing in regards to the burial site of Susan Makin Boring, #39966964. She is my 3rd great aunt. On her find a grave site it states she was buried in VA. On her death cert it states she was buried in Strongstown Pa. In looking at her grave marker pic and looking at George's marker (her husband # 39966956), it would seem the markers are next to each other. George was buried in Strongstown. Is the VA burial site correct? If so, how did you get this info? Just checking the facts. Thanks for your work on these sites.
