I know personally what it's like to not know where members of my family are buried It is my main hope that through my photographic efforts, I can help someone find their lost ancestors and possibly see their markers for the first time.

May I add your photograph of F. W. Young to his Memorial Page on the IWM Digital Memorial?

Memorial# 17221994 Lieut. Joseph Chedel, Jr.
Just checking to see if you are a relative of Joseph Chedel, I am considering putting in for a replacement headstone, because it has, since 2006, fallen over and is now chipped. So wanted to see if people who left virtual flowers are related to him. I am a descendant of his 2nd cousin. Thanks :)

My key pad went a little crazy--so didn't get message finished

I am Deanna French--a Vermont Civil War buff, trying to identify the last resting places of many of our "old soldiers" of the Civil War.If permission granted, I would post in on the Vt.C.W site ( www.vermontcivilwar.org)

You would receive credit.
Thank you for your consideration.

Edward Gilbert
Find A Grave Memorial# 12497827

I'm wondering if you have more information about the family of Edward Gilbert (name of his parents/siblings/wife and children?). My third great grandfather was Henry Douglas Guilbert was also born in Cherry Valley, Ostego, New York in 1834 to an E L Guilbert and Mary Louise Douglas. We are having a terrible time finding out anything but the names of Henry's parents, and I was hoping you might have information that could help.

Thanks,

Noel Gomillion

Birth date 1827 source
G.,
What is your source for GWB's birth date. Could it be a transcription error? Maybe 1821 instead? I would like to look at the original document if you have it?

I'm searching for his place in the Bowie family tree. If 1821 is correct then he probably is the son of Dr. John Bowie and Anne Calvert. Since Dr. John Bowie died in 1825 that would eliminate this possibility if 1827 is correct.

My source for 1821 is the book "Mistress of Riverdale" by Margaret Law Callcott

Lt. Robert Edwin Charley
Thank you so much for the photograph of my cousin. I have been looking everywhere. Evidentally he was adopted by his step-father Charley. His real surname is Williamson. His father being Sidney P. Williamson and mother Marion A. Fisher.
Also if you look closely at the phot his birth date was Apri. 28, 1915 and his death date reads Nov. 24, 1942, which matches his Death Records from Hickman Co, TN.

Really appreaciate all that Find A Grave does.
