Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started doing full photographic inventories of cemeteries in St. Lawrence county NY back in 1999 and have about 175 cemeteries inventoried and online on my home page (see link below). I have copied the listings over to find-a-grave and am working on getting all the photos uploaded here as well. Its a slow process, so if you don't find what you are looking for here, check to see if I have it on my other site. Please don't add the pictures from my website to find-a-grave yourself. If you find a picture on my site that you would like added to find-a-grave, just send me an email or leave me a message and I'll be happy to add them.

I lived most of my life in the Washington DC area where I have taken photos for about 8 years. I recently moved to Colorado to be closer to my family, but still try to get back to the DC area every now and then. However, I am no longer participating in filling requests in Arlington. Over the last three - four years it has become quite unpleasant due to a couple other "volunteers", which was a major factor in finally convincing me to move from the DC area. I will still be visiting Arlington and photographing markers as often as I can get there. Currently, I'm trying to get a few hundred photos added for markers in the cemetery each week from photos I have taken previously . I just won't be claiming requests there since I can no longer deal with the harassment and I want to regain the feeling of dignity and serenity that I used to have each time I walked into the cemetery. It is one of the most honorable, respectful, serene, and to me, sacred locations in the world .

If you would like to take-over ownership of any memorials I've created for your family members just let me know. I'd be happy to transfer them to you, but please realize that in general, edits can be made by using the edit tab on the memorial without any need for transfer of management. That said, while in the past I never turned down a transfer request, recent actions on some memorials I transferred have caused me to very rarely decline a transfer. I may decline when the requester republishes recent obituaries without permission from the publisher (in violation of item 3 of the site "Terms of Service"), creates duplicate or burial unknown memorials (in violation of the site rules), or adds inappropriate biographies which to me include biographies that are NOT about the person, but solely about their husband, ancestors, graphic details of their death, or about the history of the plane/ship/etc they served on.

Thanks for the pictures of my Grandmother "Mary Dutton" and her daughter Parthenia. You are correct that Mary Hutton is not a real person, but we made the picture request to see what the tombstone read. We were not completely sure if Mary Dutton was in Maple Hill Cemetery but suspected that she moved there to be with her daughter in her old age. Again THANKS !!

Mary Sherman Miles
You provided a photo of the shield on the Miles Mausoleum at Arlington. You might want to add the following to the Caption:

Section 3 Plot 1873

Lt. General Nelson Appleton Miles #2289
Mary Hoyt Sherman Miles, his Wife, #42202751
Col. Samuel Reber, Son-in-Law, #42202196
Cecelia Sherman Miles Reber, Daughter, #42203174
Yulee Noble Miles, Daughter-in-Law, #42203128
Colgate Hoyt, Mary's Nephew, #42202885
General Sherman Miles, Son, #42203106
Allyn Richmond Wight, Grandson-in-Law, #42202946
Nanita Yulee Miles Wight, Granddaughter, #42203669
Nelson Appleton Miles, Grandson, #42228493
Miles Reber, Grandson, #42203306

While the names are visible on the shield, this tells you the relationships between them and gives you their Find A Grave Memorial number.
