I am part of a project to research the history, "residents" and eventually to record all inscriptions in Gravesend Cemetery, Kent. I am happy to take photo requests for this cemetery as I am a frequent visitor there. I am always interested to hear from anyone with any information about interesting people buried there, (they certainly don't have to be "famous"!)

I am always willing to transfer ownership of my memorials to relatives.

Reusing grave photo on website
Hello, js.
Could I please reuse your image of the grave of Rev. Charles Cubitt (#32331934) on a non-commercial website I am building on the men on the War Memorial in St Barnabas Church on Ranmore Common,Surrey. All the men either lived or worked
on the Denbies Estate which then covered most of Ranmore Common. The Cubitt family founded and ran the Estate for over a hundred years, so I have also written pages on them. Rev Charles Cubitt was the youngest son of the great Victorian builder Thomas Cubitt, who built Denbies House.
I am trying to break up the website text with
relevant illustrations, so I would very much like to include this photo. Naturally, I
would credit the image to you and also add a link to your page, if you like. Hope to hear this is OK.
Regards, Mart
PS Incidentally, Charles was born (a twin) on 27 Feb 1842. His elder twin only lived a few days.

Thanks so much for taking the photo of the headstone. It has helped break down a longstanding brick wall. I would love to know what the last two lines say - where did John die - looks like Worthing xxxx and I just can't make out the line below. Could you have a look and help me out?
Also, the headstone gives the year of birth for both Margaret (Sept 1822) and John (22 November 1831). Your posting, reads "unknown" right now. Could you enter this information?
Thanks so much

Thank you so much for taking a picture of my great-grandfather's grave!

The only problem with it, is that I can't read anything on it- it is too out of focus. There is quite a bit of writing on it, mentioning a person I never heard of, and it looks very impressive.

I am DYING to know what it says, help! :)

Thank you very much for your reply to me and your transfer of the memorial. I have some information to add, I have enjoyed paying tribute to this war hero!
