Bio Photo PLEASE NOTE: Our family is dealing with ongoing medical crisis' and I currently have little time to spend on the computer. THANK YOU for being patient with me. I will get back to the site and your messages as soon as I can.

It has been one medical "issue" and family deaths one after another Stay strong. Stay patient. And trust in the Lord.

My goal for the New Year is to begin working my way through the messages you all have sent. NOTE: For those kind folks who send their requests through the EDIT on the person's page, I managed to get through them all tonight. It is, however, almost 4 AM. It will take me longer to go through the emails and messages sent by Find A Grave.

Eleanor Medley Memorial# 38979458
I hope this finds things going a little better for you.

When you get a chance, I think I have some information for you that you will be interested in. I found a will for a James Medley Sr. who has a wife Eleanor dated Nov 5, 1771. In it he mentions his son in law, James Medley, Jacob Medley, daughter-in-law Hannah Burton and daughter in law Mary Shelton. Eleanor is named sole executor. This will was proved July 20, 1772 and Eleanor is still living at that time. My question is, is there a will for John Medley? Or how did others get the names of John and Eleanor's children? Obviously, James Sr. was married before too.

When you have time, contact me and I will be happy to send you an original of this will.

Rosannah Logan Newman
Just got your correction today. Perhaps my calculation of Rosannah's birthdate was off a day. Thanks for correcting it. I must have replied earlier to you so you knew that she died when her riding horse fell on her and she bled to death. I published my little Newman book in 1976 and think I only had the photo I took of her gravestone in a very woodsy cemetery as evidence of her, his 2nd of 3 wives. I know nothing of her background except that he went back to Washington County, Illinois each time for a wife. I do know that the Newmans had come from Blount Co., TN to Washington Co., IL so am not surprised that she was born in TN which I didn't know before. Hope this background helps. Sincerely, Louise

RE: Elizabeth Titscombe Morse
Hi Harlene,
Yes, the only way I found out what her maiden name was is that there is volumes of "Founders and Patriot" books available on Heritage and when I had a subscription to that I was able to extract that from those pages. It is just volume M pg. 154 I believe. It states that William Morse (also stated as Mors (old English spelling) married Elizabeth Titscombe. So yes, it is so important to be able to keep our maiden names along with our married names, so many of us do not know how important that is even these days. Good for you for having your dear mother's maiden name placed with her married name on her gravestone! At least some one is thinking of future generations coming along to do research.

Have a great day!

Ann Hunt Wood #38803204
Thank you for all your work with FindAGrave! I am a descendent of Ann Hunt and am trying to source her parents and am having a hard time linking her to William Hunt and Elizabeth Best. There are tons of family trees, but I cannot find any solid sources to support this. And I notice that the burial place is 'unknown"? Thank you for any help you can give me.
Carol K., Los Gatos, California
P.S. And stay strong -- one day at a time. My thoughts are with you.

Memorial# 36877395 .
William was not born in Wythe County, Wythe County Virginia was not formed until 1790
note: Wythe County was formed from Montgomery County in 1790. It was named after George Wythe, the first Virginian signer of the Declaration of Independence. During the Civil War the Battle of Cove Mountain was fought in the county.

Prior to Wythe County's creation, what is now the Wythe County community of Austinville served as the county seat for Fincastle County, an extinct Virginia county whose borders stretched from Roanoke, Virginia, to the Mississippi River a county roughly the size of half the State of Texas.[3]not my words, but Mr Webster's Dictionary.

RE: duplicate memorial for Thomas West & Mary Tenney West
Harlene, I have deleted my duplicate Thomas West memorial, and, since I now realize that I had also created a duplicate for his wife, Mary, I deleted that one, too. I wish you energy, patience, and peace of mind. Sharon

Elizabeth Titscombe Morse
I noticed your note on my ancestors memorial page, thanks for that. I too would really love to see her transcript of what she said happened as well. But notably women were never given the same rights so we probably will never see them if they exist that is.

Thanks for posting on her page.

duplicate memorial
The deceased in question is Thomas West at the Ancient Burying Ground. I inadvertently created another memorial for him shortly after you created yours. Jack Parker has now added a wonderful photo to your memorial, and he was kind enough to let me know that he spotted my duplicate.

I will delete it, but before I do, I thought you might like to look at it and see if there is any info you'd like to incorporate into yours.

My memorial is #40483364 and yours is 38219473. When you are able to catch up on your Find A Grave stuff, I hope to hear from you.

Thank you. I hope things are looking up for you and your family.
