Bio Photo PLEASE NOTE: Our family is dealing with ongoing medical crisis' and I currently have little time to spend on the computer. THANK YOU for being patient with me. I will get back to the site and your messages as soon as I can.

It has been one medical "issue" and family deaths one after another Stay strong. Stay patient. And trust in the Lord.

My goal for the New Year is to begin working my way through the messages you all have sent. NOTE: For those kind folks who send their requests through the EDIT on the person's page, I managed to get through them all tonight. It is, however, almost 4 AM. It will take me longer to go through the emails and messages sent by Find A Grave.

George Bewley #39040031
Dear Harlene - on George Bewley's memorial you posted that he married Sallie Phillips in Loudoun County, Virginia; however, I cannot find a record of that in the Loudoun County Archives. Can you tell me your source for that? Thank you.

James A McGinnis
Hi! First let me say I am sorry to hear of the medical crisis in your family and I will say a prayer for your family.

My great great grandfather is James A. McGinnis, Daniel's brother. I was wondering if you had any information concern James. Specifically, I was wondering where he lived after their father John passed.

Thanks for any information and again prayers for your family

Anna Luella Newman Higgerson
Your memorial for Anna Luella Newman Higgerson Memorial# 37386391 indicates an unknown burial. However, Thomas Higgerson has posted a photo of her headstone and my wife and I also just photographed the same stone in the Percy Cemetery (also known as I.O.O.F).

Campbell Slayden

I have a person photograph to add to your memorial for Dr. Campbell Slayden 37175005. However the 5 free photograph limit has been reached. I have requested that the obituary placer remove his obituaries. If he doesn't soon, I will have Findagrave delete them. So, that information will disappear. One of my pet peeves about findagravers are obituaries and unneeded photos placed in the photo area. I spend a lot of time searching for old person photographs to add to the findagrave memorials. This is the first time I have been stopped short. I have spent time typing an obituary in the Edit-SAC window for a manager to use or not use.

I was able to add a photo for his wife. You can check that out.

LeNora Newman
Sorry to bother you again, no rush, but in looking at LeNora's gravestone, I wonder if it was misinterpreted. According to my family history that was passed down to me, Nora was older than Clora, who was born in 1871, and Nora died at age 7 after being kicked in the head by a horse.
I was not surprised to find that my Nora may be your LeNora since they named one of her younger brothers LeRoy, but we knew him as Uncle Roy.
When I look at the gravestone pictured, I interpret it as she died on Nov. 16, 1876. If she was 7 years, 8 months and 18 days, and we do the math then she was born, Feb. 26, 1869 (if I figured leap years correctly). Since David Monroe and Mary were married in 1867, an 1869 birthdate is reasonable and still makes her the oldest child. Also, Mary Newman would have had a hard time giving birth to Ellen in Feb. 1876 if LeNora was born at the same time and I don't think they were twins. Perhaps LeNora's name is mixed up with the "Laura" that you have listed as being born in 1869. My family history makes no mention of a Laura, and I am pretty sure Clora would have said something about her.
I have the birth order for the family as Nora as the oldest(your LeNora), followed by Clora (1871), Milton (1874), Ellen (1876), LeRoy (1881), Elizabeth (1884), Grace Mae (1886), and David Wesley (1888). I noticed a few family names repeated with your David Monroe's ancestors, so I feel strongly that this is the same family. I am so excited about this!

Are we distant relatives?
I am the great great grand daughter of David Monroe Newman (#44474360). I am trying to gather family information and ran across your posting for Aaron Newman. What wonderful info. I have a number of family photos of David Monroe and the family as well as some family history that I am piecing together. You are welcome to visit my virtual cemetery. Please contact me if you would like to share family information.

Eleanor Medley Memorial# 38979458
I hope this finds things going a little better for you.

When you get a chance, I think I have some information for you that you will be interested in. I found a will for a James Medley Sr. who has a wife Eleanor dated Nov 5, 1771. In it he mentions his son in law, James Medley, Jacob Medley, daughter-in-law Hannah Burton and daughter in law Mary Shelton. Eleanor is named sole executor. This will was proved July 20, 1772 and Eleanor is still living at that time. My question is, is there a will for John Medley? Or how did others get the names of John and Eleanor's children? Obviously, James Sr. was married before too.

When you have time, contact me and I will be happy to send you an original of this will.

Rosannah Logan Newman
Just got your correction today. Perhaps my calculation of Rosannah's birthdate was off a day. Thanks for correcting it. I must have replied earlier to you so you knew that she died when her riding horse fell on her and she bled to death. I published my little Newman book in 1976 and think I only had the photo I took of her gravestone in a very woodsy cemetery as evidence of her, his 2nd of 3 wives. I know nothing of her background except that he went back to Washington County, Illinois each time for a wife. I do know that the Newmans had come from Blount Co., TN to Washington Co., IL so am not surprised that she was born in TN which I didn't know before. Hope this background helps. Sincerely, Louise

RE: Elizabeth Titscombe Morse
Hi Harlene,
Yes, the only way I found out what her maiden name was is that there is volumes of "Founders and Patriot" books available on Heritage and when I had a subscription to that I was able to extract that from those pages. It is just volume M pg. 154 I believe. It states that William Morse (also stated as Mors (old English spelling) married Elizabeth Titscombe. So yes, it is so important to be able to keep our maiden names along with our married names, so many of us do not know how important that is even these days. Good for you for having your dear mother's maiden name placed with her married name on her gravestone! At least some one is thinking of future generations coming along to do research.

Have a great day!
Melody Morse-Roswell.

Ann Hunt Wood #38803204
Thank you for all your work with FindAGrave! I am a descendent of Ann Hunt and am trying to source her parents and am having a hard time linking her to William Hunt and Elizabeth Best. There are tons of family trees, but I cannot find any solid sources to support this. And I notice that the burial place is 'unknown"? Thank you for any help you can give me.
Carol K., Los Gatos, California
P.S. And stay strong -- one day at a time. My thoughts are with you.
