[Jun 2013] ==> ChatGris, our 19 yr old wonder cat, left our lives for eternal catnip fields on Saturday 8 Jun 2013. The house is not the same without her presence.|
[UPDATE: Jun 13 2003 -- Had an email from a supposed "administrator" who CLAIMED that I CREATED an "Unknown" cemetery .... Wrote back and told him I didn't "create" anything other than to PICK from the LIST of AVAILABLE CEMETERIES" as given in the Find-A-Grave wizard for "Family and Friends (old)"..... IT's A PROBLEM WITH THE FIND-A-GRAVE PROGRAMMING....!!! Not the users...!!!]

NOTE: For any/all "Palmyra/Dexter, MAINE" and/or "Brockton, MASS" researchers of the PRESCOTT family who may hit upon this, and be interested ......
1) Joseph Silas PRESCOTT's mother was NOT "Hannah F PRESCOTT" (as seems to be in everybody's "tree") ... his mother was actually "Catherine PENNELL" .... Catherine died either giving birth to, or right after Joseph's sister, Ida, was born in Apr 1868.... Hannah F DAVIS married Joseph & Ida's father, Darius, in Oct 1868 (Hannah was married twice before she married Darius, BTW -- first to John RUSSELL (1843), 2nd to James SAMPSON (1844), then 3rd to Darius (1868)); also
2) Joseph Silas' father Darius PRESCOTT was NOT the same person as "Daniel" and/or "David" PRESCOTT...!!! "Daniel" was a half-brother, and "David" came from a different family.
Contact me for further details thru the EDIT button (family members ONLY, please), and PLEASE give me an email addy to contact you -- my messaging here on Find-a-Grave is turned off.
JUL 2012: Pet Peeve -- RANT (standing on soap-box).... HOW HARD IS IT TO DO A LITTLE MATH?? For some folks, it's obviously WAY too hard! If a grave marker (or other documentation) gives you the death date, and also gives you how old someone is, HOW HARD IS IT to subtract and give an approximate birth year? Is it REALLY that difficult to do? --- (okay, RANT OVER, for now...)
The following relations have passed recently:
DEC 2012: Merwyn L CLARK - my heart-felt sympathies and condolences go out to my sister and Mack's family. Words cannot rightly express the feelings for your loss at this time. May you rest in peace, Merwyn, free from your pain, and forever in the hearts and minds of those whom you loved and those who loved you.
NOV 2012: Hazel Eileen (Perkins) Prescott -- wife of a 1st cousin, once removed (Robert Lawrence Prescott -- my Dad's 1st cousin). May you rest in peace and be free of pain, Hazel.
JUL 2012: The last of my Dad's siblings: Ronald.
MAR 2012: Uncle Leon - (husband of my Aunt Ginnie)
NOV 2011: Aunt Margie ("Squidge"). Your support, love and understanding when my Dad died were VERY much appreciated, as well as your continued contact with my Mom.
I've been bitten by the "genealogy bug", not due to any particular religious affliction***, but as a means to honor my parents' families..... All the way back to the Mayflower Pilgrims (and even one before them)....
It's ALL that I do these days, from morning to night (kind of like a "job" -- yikes!).
Included here on Find-a-Grave is only a fraction of the "tree".
