I have done geneology for many year and find it very addicting.Ive been using F.A.G. for awhile and find it very useful and have met some great people that are understanding and very helpful and others not so understanding but this site is great and could not found what i have without it. I plan someday when time permits to photo and set up memorials myself. Would love to help people with thier family history. When i start and i have a memorial that is not part of my family i would have no problem transfering. I know what it means to take care of your own familys memorials. As of right now i am only involved with my familys memorials. If i have memorials that were transfered to me. If you feel the memorial is closer to your family i would have no problem transfering it.
Our Lunt descendants came to America (Newbury MA) by way of England 1634-35.
I do most of my searches for Lunts and other close family ancesters. All my memorial are part of my family. My Lunt greatest grandfathers and families came from England to Newbury MA. settled to York ME. to Orono ME. to Plattsburgh NY. Some of the families remained in these area's but also settled in ME,MA,MI,MN,IL,WI,NY,CA,VT,ect. I have traveled to Newbury MA. to Orono ME. many times.I live in the VT,NY area would like to help anyone with info close by. F.A.G. and also myself feel everyone deserves a memorial!! Couple of good books for Lunt research. (History Of The Lunt Family In America),(The Ancestry Of Abel Lunt)&(Freese Families 1749-1800) Freese book mentions a couple Lunt's that married into their family from Orono Me.

(Old Water Street Cemetery Orono Maine)
Note - The original Orono Maine cemetery was at the lower end of Water St. and Pine St. where the railroad station was built later and tracks laid. The cemetery became to small and was in the way of the railroad (European & North American Railroad) that planned to pass through town and railroad service started 1868. Thus the problem of moving bodies to Riverview Cemetery arose. 1850s started the removable of the remains. At a town meeting March 1867 to raise money for removable remaining of the bodies. It was noted that when the remains were removed some were too badly deteriorated to be removed and that some identifying markers were missing so were never removed. There are no complete records of burials in the old cemetery. Which presents a problem to genealogist who have information indicating that a certain person died in Orono but no records of an Orono burial can be found.
