Bio Photo Most Ft. Snelling interments of servicemen and their families I have added I didn't know personally. I add head stone photos and a token/note when possible. I do this to honor the men and their families. I want to give their pages something more than just a name and a date.

"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."

I'm from Minneapolis, MN and have lived in this area all my life. I'm a proud veteran and spent 3 years in the army and I served two tours of duty in Viet Nam, (late 1969-1972.) I was wounded twice. I was assigned to The First Cavalry Division and was in the infantry and then a combat engineer & operated a bulldozer & later I was assigned to aviation and was a crew chief/door gunner on a UH-1 Huey helicopter. I'm a recipient of the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts, two Air Medals, two Commendation Medals, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Aircraft Crewman Wings, & a Marksman Rifle Medal.
I'm a former local truck driver of 35 years and a former part time fire photographer for seven years. I was forced to retire in 2004 due to back problems. Now I spend time listing interments. I fill photo requests for Fort Snelling National Cemetery. If you see ANY FT. Snelling memorials with a mistake or missing plots & sections or need a spouse/parents links added please let me know and I will get it corrected or updated.
I do appreciate you visiting Aaron's memorial and for all of your kind words. Thank you so much. It has helped a lot with the passing of my beloved Aaron. Aaron was a blessing and I miss him so much.
If you see anything that I have submitted that needs correction, please let me know. I will be happy to correct it.

Thank you also for the great photo of the headstone of Joseph and Genevieve Fugle; I appreciate your time and trouble. May I have your permission to use the photo on my ancestry tree (with proper credit given)? Just let me know~

Wow! Steve, thank you for capturing such a beautiful moment in God's nature, and to share it with all of us! As you may know, the Rainbow is the Sign of The Lord's Covenant with us! The RED pickup on the road is way too cool! It speaks to me of the blood that was not only shed on the battlefields, but by Jesus for us all. You truly have an artist's eye with your photography...the framing is superb!

I came upon this cemetery while making a Family Tree for the daughter of Darrold Herman Niederkorn #46550986, who was once married to my brother-in-law. I am going to write to her of the 8 Dec 2014 "Home Going" of her former Mother-In-Law, Esther, whom she loved dearly and continued communication with her for many years. Esther would have turned 91 in January.

Thank you for your heart-led work on Find A is so appreciated! I truly enjoyed the history of the cemetery that apparently, you placed here just yesterday! Very interesting!

Thank you, too, for your service to our GREAT COUNTRY in the cause of FREEDOM!

Christmas Blessings to you and lovely Oral!

RE: A Favor
Not a favor Steve, an honor...I am sorry you lost your buddy. He will never be forgotten. Though I did not know him, we are all brothers and you who served before me? all make me proud and yet humbled. We honor the one and we honor all, soldier.

RE: The get together
Aww, thanks Steve! I come across your beautiful notes and photos all the time and am looking forward to meeting you and the crew. So glad you are feeling up to it. Honestly, the Fort Snelling default photo is the coolest one I've ever seen here on this site. I almost hate to put up a grave marker photo that covers it up!

Your photo of Fort Snelling National Cemetery is absolutely awesome! You caught it at just exactly the right moment to enhance the beauty of the headstones all in an orderly row with God's rainbow above, like He is watching over all. Thank you for the magical moment you are sharing with all. :-)
