My family has been in San Buenaventura, Ventura Co., CA since 1861 when my GG Grandfather came out west from Madison Co., NY. He became the first mayor in 1866 after Ventura separated from Santa Barbara County and Ventura County was created. I have been doing genealogy of my family for a number of years.
