Life surprises us with untimely endings and we miss the opportunity to collect valuable information of our family history. The purpose of my membership will be to work my way back and create a path to give my passed loved ones an Everlasting Legacy, and to provide my current and future relatives an accurate account of where they all now rest. If I am unable to complete my goal then at least there will be a starting point for someone in the family to carry on.|

|EGF||RE: Fred Johnson and Minnie Brown|
The burial locations of seven of the nine children of Fred H. Johnson (by both wives) have now been identified and photographed. Missing are the youngest sons, Warren and Wayne. I'll continue to look into it as time permits.

|EGF||Fred Johnson and Minnie Brown|
Fred and Minnie were married at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Vancouver, Washington, on March 26, 1891. Witnesses were Charles and Alice Brown and Montaville Johnson (Fred's brother).

Records at Ancestry.com indicate that Minnie (Brown) Johnson died in 1897. I can't find a marriage record for Fred and Minnie, but they must have been married prior to 1891, when their eldest son was born. I'll look into it some more. There are other family members interred at Riverview Abbey, and I'll be photographing their markers soon as well as doing additional research on the others.

Glad I was able to be of some help in your research. I am curious ---- do you know the name of Fred's first wife, the mother of his older children? She should have a Find A Grave memorial page, if possible.

It was my pleasure to get the photo for you. I'm going back to Riverview Abbey today and will get a picture of Fred Johnson's marker. By the way, I see you have added a link for Fred M. Johnson, Fred H. Johnson's son. Maude was Fred's step-mother (see her funeral notice). Fred H. and Maude were married in 1898. Fred M. was born in 1891.

I noticed you left a flower on Manuel's memorial. I just wanted you to know that I have added a portrait photo, in case you are interested. The family added the photo to his marker probably within the last 6 months or so, as I don't think it was there last October when I last visited the cemetery.

You're welcome. I'm sorry I wasn't able to find it. I did find this 2006 transcription online http://www.mrail.net/data/cemete/oregon/linn/lebanon_pion/ and it was not listed as an existing headstone at that point in time either. That doesn't necessarily mean he isn't buried there though, as only a minority of stones still remain whole and in place.

You are definitely Welcome, And Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year for 2016 !!
|Irene Dowling||RE: Angela Vegas|
Feel free to use the photo as you wish, I don't need credit. I didn't see her husband, but the next time I'm over there, I can check with the staff to see if he's there. Can you send me his name and date of death? I'll go over there Mon or Tue.
Thank you for taking time to read and respond so graciously to my message. I will forward this to my cousin right away, and hope she heeds your sage advice. Cheers!
