Bio Photo Jan 2014-Just got back from a cross country road trip with hubby to Charleston, SC and then a cruise. While is Charleston, got to track down where my 5x great grandfather was during the seige of Charleston during the Rev War. It was something special to stand and place my hand upon part of the Walled City and see holes in it and know he was there.

Marie Hersant Maupin
Hello Helen, I am a 10th generation descendant of Marie Hersant Maupin and was wondering how you found she was buried in the Bruton Parish Episcopal Cemetery? I have searched the church's book and cannot find her listed. Do you know where in the churchyard she is buried? Would you know where her husband, Gabriel, is buried? Thank you very much. :-)

Faibian, Edward
Hi Helen:

I've uploaded the photo for your request for Edward Faibian. Please note the different spelling on the marker.

I also took photos of the surrounding Faibian markers as well, if those are of interest to you.

Best wishes

Green Clay Smith 1825-1895
Hello Helen ... I found a note you left on the memorial for Green Clay Smith from 2004. I am researching him as well and was wondering if you were aware if he left any memoirs or papers, and where they might be located? Looking for information about why he suddenly left his position as Territorial Governor in Montana in 1869 and then went to seminary to become a Baptist Pastor. He became pastor of First Baptist Church in Frankfort, KY shortly after his ordination. Thanks for any help you might be in my searching. If you could email me at my personal address in reply, I would be most grateful:

Old Hunter Family Cemetery
Hi --
I see you posted a couple of Hunters in the "Old Hunter Family Cemetery in NC." Would you know where that cemetery is located, exactly? How did you learn they are there?

RE: John Phillip Smith
Good morning, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Paul Ransom Smith was married to my Mother (quite some difference in their ages). The family all called him PR. He has been dead now for some time (21 July 2001).

He looked on me as being his Brother, and at the end, when he had Alzheimers so bad, there was no shaking that, we were fairly close in ages, and worked together at one time. I held his hand till he passed away, he went quietly and peacefully.

I have been trying to put his Family Tree together for some time, he knew very little of his Ancestors, his Mother Nancy Hamilton seems to have passed away when he was quite young.

I would appreciate hearing from you via personal email, and try to fill in some blanks. I was hoping that I would wake someone up when I posted to these Memorials. Thanks, Grady Puryear

Just photographed Bertha's grave marker. The sun was perfect over my right shoulder landing on the west face of her marker. Was planning on taking the photo this afternoon about 1400 hours but got there about 1630 hours instead.
The second photo shows Pat and Bertha together within their block in IOOF Cemetery, Lake County, Oregon. Have a nice day. Bill
