Bio and Links
Bio Photo We live in a small town in southeast Iowa and spend a lot of time in Graveyards and Cemeteries taking pictures, taking notes, just piecing the families together.

Some of these Cemeteries are so old that there are not any other records of the people resting there. When these cemeteries does that person's existence!
We would like to thank all of you for your contributions to the preservation of these cemeteries.
The peace and serenity found in these old cemeteries is our reward!

If there is a memorial we have added, that is not in our family, we will consider a transfer of the memorial to you.
Please use the Edit tab,(upper right hand corner of the memorial) Please do this on every memorial that you want transferred or a correction on and please include your ID number.
Thank You, Mo & Dave

Berneta Bird
You added the headstone picture for Bernetta and her brother Horace with them being on the end of the parents headstone. I was wondering if possible the other two children William and Caroline are on the opposite side. The # for Bernetta is 75427579

Thank you so much for all the work you do on this website. Your headstone photos are well done and I wondered if I could have permission to copy the photos from the Schleifer Family memorials to post on my family tree? --Mary

Obit-James Leech- 85933363
I found an Obit for a James Leech that somewhat matched the account. I uploaded it. If you don't believe it is correct I can delete it. Wasn't sure if it was any relation to you or not.

RE: Samuel Smith, 1802-1863
Nice to meet you 'cuz! Hope we can keep sharing information. I live about 4 miles from where Rev. Richard Smith is buried and about 2 miles from where Samuel Smith is buried. I am living among my roots!

B Davidson
I was looking for Helen Davidson's family and came across her parents' graves. I then looked up the cemetery and noticed the above B. Davidson. I believe this may be my 4th great-grandfather, James Barnes Davidson. First, the death date listed is only 3 days off from my records (the date on your record may have been his burial date). Also, it is quite telling that he is buried on the same plot as his second wife's parents. Also, according to Elizabeth Davidson Harbaugh's genealogy, James Barnes Davidson is buried in Mt. Pleasant. If you have any further information on this burial and whether it indeed is James Barnes Davidson, I'd be interested to know.

RE: Samuel Smith, 1802-1863
Thank you for moving him to the proper cemetery. The two Engle cemeteries are within a couple of miles of each other, but in different counties. Samuel Smith's burial is closer to Dwarf in Perry County. The other, larger Engle cemetery is closer to Fisty in Knott County.
I believe that Manfred Smith was the son of Samuel and Nancy Jones Smith; because he is buried very close to Samuel Smith. Nancy may be buried in an unmarked grave next to Samuel.
