Hi, Debby! Thank you for your work. I was amazed and pleased to find the Friend family pictures and entries. William Friend, Jr was my 3rd great-grandfather. He died relatively early in life. My grandmother knew his wife, the only great-grandparent that she knew. My grandmother lived in Springfield from 1927 until 1991, and I doubt that she ever visited the Linden Cemetery.
Do you know who I would contact, the Linden Cemetery board(?), about the possibility of placing a new marker for William Curtis Friend, Sr. and Elizabeth Grimes Friend near their present marker? William Curtis Friend's data is not legible now. I believe to preserve his memory by retaining the original concrete(?), deteriorating marker and placing a new, granite marker (not lavish) nearby. The Friends contributed significantly to Christian county, and I want to honor them.
Thank you for being any help that you can provide!

With regard to your correction, Memorial #17907736, I have Mary Kendrick's mother as Ann Funkhauser, not Ann Funk. The only proof that I have is my mother's notes and research, but if you have good proof for the name Funk please let me know. Certainly, Baylor Jacobs is the correct name for Mary's husband. I am new to Find a Grave and would like to get your correction made to their records but don't know how to accomplish that.
Hi, I am writting about Lydia Jane Stone Smith # above. I have just taken a picture of the headsone in 2E 76 6 and reads "Lydia J. Smith 1860/1917".In your bio you have her born 1859 and died 1920. Can you tell me where you received this information. The confusion, beside birth and death date,is there is another Lydia Smith buried in the Riverview Cemetery in plot 9W 2 4. And, the husband of Lydia Jane Smith is buried in plot 5E....very confusing. Let hope we can get this cleared up for the family.
