Taphophilia (a passion and enjoyment of cemeteries) has been my main hobby since the late 1970's when I was a junior in high school. I discovered that cemeteries in and around Los Angeles were the best places to hide from truant officers. It was in these adopted sanctuaries that I began to appreciate my surroundings: the grounds, the headstones, the architecture, the artwork and most importantly, the residents.
In October of 2010, I founded The Traveling Taphophiles, a group that sets out once a month to visit cemeteries. Our travels have taken us as far as New Orleans. I'm fortunate to have met others that share my hobby and to have forged some great friendships along the way.

Rose Hills Memorial Park Thank you so much for attaching the photos of the gravestones of Charles Herbert McDavid and his wife Amanda Florence! I live in Kentucky and getting to California was just not going to happen. Thank you for all the work you do! Your friend Ann Horton Mefford
