Taphophilia (a passion and enjoyment of cemeteries) has been my main hobby since the late 1970's when I was a junior in high school. I discovered that cemeteries in and around Los Angeles were the best places to hide from truant officers. It was in these adopted sanctuaries that I began to appreciate my surroundings: the grounds, the headstones, the architecture, the artwork and most importantly, the residents.|
In October of 2010, I founded The Traveling Taphophiles, a group that sets out once a month to visit cemeteries. Our travels have taken us as far as New Orleans. I'm fortunate to have met others that share my hobby and to have forged some great friendships along the way.
Once photos have been posted, feel free to use them as you wish - photo credit isn't necessary.
Happy Graving ~
I miss Chris with all my heart.

|Sharen A. Durler-Pflughoeft||Love your Bio|
Oh, and wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your Bio!!! I also love cemeteries and have been roaming them, originally with my Granny Marlett since I can remember...and while it's a bit harder now as I'm getting up there in years, it's still my passion and brings so much pleasure. Thanks again for the Salmans photos at Rose Hills Memorial Park...I know I'll never make it to California, so having you and your traveling group out there, means a lot!!! Sharen

I am actually hitting Gate 19 today and then possibly jumping over to 17 depending on how much time I have. I drive a white Prius and walk around with a old school brown clip board if you ever see me come say hi. I am working on updating all the plot information for as many Rose Hills records as I can. It's really helping me with my volunteering and hope it is helping the other volunteers! Have a great day!

Louis, thanks ever so much for getting back to me. I will see if I can submit Robert Schuller's photos to Find A Grave for famous people. Your biography on him was great. I even looked up his siblings and his parents.
